Fans of Telltale's The Walking Dead video game series will finally be able to see how Clementine's journey ends. In a surprise announcement during The Walking Dead panel at New York Comic Con, Robert Kirkman announced that the final two episodes of The Walking Dead: The Final Season will be released via his company, Skybound.

"We’ve successfully negotiated with Telltale Games for our company Skybound to come in and see Season 4 of the Telltale game to completion,” Kirkman said.

"We can’t lose Andrew Lincoln and Clementine in the same year," he told the audience, referring to Andrew Lincoln's (Rick Grimes) departure from the hit AMC show this season.

According to an official statement from Skybound, the company has "taken ownership of Telltale’s The Walking Dead: The Final Season and will finish the season. Skybound will work with members of the original Telltale team to finish the story in a way the fans deserve." Skybound also posted an announcement on social media, celebrating the news.

Telltale'sThe Walking Dead was in the middle of its final season when the studio announced last month it would be shuttering its doors. The second of four planned episodes in The Final Season released on September 25, just days after the studio's closure, but there were no concrete plans to release the remaining two.

Thankfully, fans who have stuck with Clementine through this long-winding journey will get closure.
