ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA Joins ETERNALS With Lowest CinemaScore Of Any MCU Movie

Despite audiences appearing to enjoy the film more than critics, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has been given a "B" CinemaScore, joining Eternals as the lowest-rated Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumnia is now playing in theaters, and despite a (mostly) negative reception from critics, audiences did appear to be getting a lot more out of Marvel Studios' first Phase 5 movie.

Even so, Quantumania has received the lowest CinemaScore of any MCU film.

Peyton Reed's sci-fi adventure was given a B, the same grade as 2021's Eternals, which was the first time any movie in the franchise scored below a B+ (Thor: Love and Thunder, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness).

Movies don't live or die by their CinemaScores, of course, and Ant-Man 3 is still on track to take in around $270 - $280 million worldwide over the weekend. It's also worth noting that this result stands in contrast to the film's 84% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes (its Tomatometer has dropped to 48%).

Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.

Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania also stars Jonathan Majors as Kang, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O'Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar.
