Batman: The Animated Series has been hailed by most, as the best piece of Batman media to ever be created. First airing on September 5th 1992, on Fox Kids. The series earned 4 Day Time Emmy Awards for: Oustanding Animated Program, Outstanding Music Direction and Composition, Oustanding Writing in An Animated Program and finally Outstanding Acheivement in Sound Editing. The series also boasts a 94% Popcorn Meter on Rotten Tomatoes and 9/10 on IMDB.

This show was an absolute staple of childhood for 90's kids. Even if you happened to be born after the end of the series in 1995, the syndication lasted years, for more generations to enjoy.

Well, IT'S BACK... Not really though. Screen Rant is reporting that Upper Deck are realeasing a new board game titled "Enemies of Gotham City."

From Screen Rant the game is described as:

"Developed by Upper Deck, Enemies of Gotham City is a two-to-five player area control game, which sees players take on the role of a villain and attempt to dominate Gotham City. Each villain has unique abilities to help them get the upper hand, although they all must contend with Batman and his allies attempting to disrupt their plans to finally bring an end to the chaos in Gotham City. With it being an area control game, players can expect a lot of pieces, colorfully designed cards, and a massive board on which to place it all."

"Each card features brand-new art based on the series, including the aforementioned plethora of villains, all of whom are vying for control of Gotham City. The figurines are also based on their looks from the series, and the expansion, Knight on the Town, which adds a further six characters, similarly faithfully recreates the iconic appearance of each villain. It is easily one of the most faithful adaptations of the show while still adding something new of value to long-time fans, especially those fond of Batman: The Animated Series weirder episodes."

Are you going to be picking up Enemies of Gotham City for your next game night? Well, if you want to, it's currently up for pre-order on the official Upper Deck website. The price is $149USD with the expansion "Knight On The Town" rolling in at an additional $24.99USD.
