A new motion poster for Batman: Knightfall Part 2: Knightquest has been released, revealing the cover art for the movie's eventual 4K Blu-ray debut (we're still waiting for an official launch date for that and Digital, as the movie is currently billed as "coming soon").
In this key art, we see Gotham City's new Batman, Azrael, taking the fight to the man who broke the Bat, Bane. This clash promises to be very interesting, especially as the unstable Jean-Paul Valley is very much outmatched.
The reaction to the first movie was very positive, especially as it stuck closely to the 90s aesthetic and original comic book storyline. Hopefully, this middle chapter can prove itself a worthy follow-up as the spotlight shifts to a new lead.
Here's the synopsis for Batman: Knightfall Part 2: Knightquest:
Batman lies broken at the hands of the villainous mastermind Bane. With Bruce Wayne paralyzed from the waist down and unable to continue as Batman, a new successor must be chosen to defend Gotham City. Jean-Paul Valley, the man also known as Azrael, must take up the mantle of the Batman. But will his more violent methods be enough to stop Bane?
When we spoke with producer Jim Krieg about the sequels, he told us, "I think the thing I’m most excited about is Bruce’s relationship with Shondra, which ends up being very germane to the plot, but also is an element we don’t get to play with Batman very often. Maybe occasionally with his relationship with Selina Kyle. But this is a totally separate relationship that I think has real emotional weight."
"And I’m so happy with the voice actors, with Anson and, oh, I’m spacing out her name, but she’s so good. Shondra… don’t put the part… I’ll be spacing out her name. But they’re so strong that it’s, you know, great to see him have that romantic relationship. And it’s spoiler alert. It’s also heartbreaking. So I’m anxious to see that play out and see what audiences think of it."
"And there are a few changes that we had to make for efficiency’s sake," Krieg added. "So I’m also dreading the outcry over the things we have to change. But hopefully, overall, the fans are going to enjoy these other pieces as much as they did the first one."
