In news we can surely all get behind, it's been announced today that Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman will receive a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year.

The actor, also known for his work in movies like Da 5 Bloods, 21 Bridges, and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, died in 2020 after a lengthy battle with cancer. His illness was kept private until his death in August of that year, leaving the actor's fans shocked he'd seemingly passed so suddenly.

We've since learned he never stopped fighting, of course, even shooting a number of Marvel movies while fighting the disease. His final MCU performance was as Star-Lord in Disney+'s What If...?

Boseman actually received a posthumous Emmy for "Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance" for his work in that show. As for his star on the Walk of Fame, he's going to be part of the motion picture category.

Among those joining him will be Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot, Michelle Yeoh, Chris Pine, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Christina Ricci, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, and Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri.

In related news, it's also been confirmed that, after nearly five decades in the entertainment industry, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Angela Bassett will be honoured with her first Academy Award after her name was added to the Academy's list of Governors Awards recipients.

She'll be joined by fellow honorary winners Mel Brooks and Carol Littleton. Bassett was actually nominated for "Best Supporting Actress" at this year's ceremony for her work in the Marvel Studios sequel but somehow lost out to Jamie Lee Curtis for Everything Everywhere All at Once.

No date has currently been revealed as to when Boseman's Walk of Fame star will be revealed, but we'll be sure to keep you updated.
