Planet X the next story arc in the series is a world proposed by current arc's villains the Apocalypse Twins as a place where "mutants are free to use their powers" and is devoid of non-mutant humans. The Apocalypse Twins plan to use the combined powers of the Scarlet Witch and Wonder Man to create this mutant utopia, but their plans were seemingly thwarted by the events of Uncanny Avengers #14 which features the deaths of deaths of Rogue, Scarlet Witch and Wonder Man. But it seems there's a second chance for Planet X - although Remender wouldn't give the same chances to the fallen teammates.

"The Planet X arc will show some form of mutant homeworld established in space. It's an examination of mutants finally geting what they wanted althought they didn't put it together," Remender says."There's no humans here save Wasp, but the mutants continue to break into factions, cause problems and leads to strife."

Remender on the Wasp says he has always considered her an integral part of the Avengers even back before he was writing comics, but inking during his run on Avengers back in the late 1990s. Remender says that Wasp's decisions in the current "Ragnarök Now" arc will put her in an "interesting position" as one of the few humans on Planet X.

"That's something I think whether or not she's conscious of it or intending it that she's doing in a natural way," he said. "It leads to her making decisions that put her in an interesting predicament. ... Wasp is a huge part of the story, I don't want to give away too much, but we've found an interesting position to put her in as one of the few humans that are on this Planet X. Perhaps Magneto wants to get all the humans off Planet X and has his own X-Force squad that looks a lot like the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants."

When asked if there was going to be time for the Uncanny Avengers team to soak in the events of #14, Remender said the series will to continue to build off events of that issue.

"These deaths will be revealed to cast members at certain moments in time in a way to hinder them further and don't help morale of what they're up against," says Remender.

Remender also teases that the Uncanny Avengers will see the repurcussions of the in-fighting amongst the heroes as in Civil War, Avengers Vs. X-Men, and in Uncanny Avengers itself, and how it detracts from their ability to fend off actual villains.

"Between 'Civil War' and 'Schism' and 'AvX' and all these events we've had with heroes fighting heroes -- we haven't seen a big true shazam in terms of ramifications for this behavior. It's so unheroic of them to be fighting each other ... that what I was coming to was they continue to be distrustful."

He states that Wolverine's time as leader of X-Force, as well as Captain America decision to place Havok as leader of the Uncanny Avengers ' team are both integral events that lead to this fallout.

"With the threats from the likes of Apocalypse Twins, Kang, Kang's gang, Immortus and others, there is the giant evil wave of bad luck for the heroes," Remender says. "If they continue fight amongst themselves in this kind of petulant fashion, there will be even bigger repercussions."

This sounds...odd. It seems like what they're trying to do is trade the status quo of the mutant and inhuman communities, with the X-Men in their own floating world and the Inhuman population living among everyday people.

I feel like I'm the only one who hasn't totally loved the Uncanny Avengers. Everyone here is always raving about it, but to me the storyline seems overly contrived and reliant on past events and focuses on only specific characters while ignoring the rest of the team. I'm not the biggest fan of the artwork either.

anyone want to explain what the hype is all about?

Well...relying on past events is part of what makes the writing so good; it anchors continuity. One of my biggest complaints about Marvel as of late is how quickly everything returns to the status quo after their universe changing events. It's as if there's no consequences or significance. The fallout from Civil War was a joke considering everything that had happened.

I hear that - the fallout from Civil War was alright because it showed Iron Man taking over and The Initiative, and all of the events after culminating with Secret Invasion and the Dark Reign right after. to me that makes sense - things change and they evolve and move on. the world is different for months or years after a given event.

that was one of my biggest problems with Age of Ultron. once that finished, there was literally nothing different. Sure, you've got Avengers A.I. now who came together after... well, they don't really know, because time travel paradoxes and whatnot. and then Angela shows up and no one asks any questions. and then the Hulk had to go fix things, even though no one knows why. these are the sort of questions that they need to deal with within the stories but don't because tey're too busy moving on to the NEXT MAJOR BLOCKBUSTER EVENT!!! that no one has time to mentally prepare for because half the time they're still not finished with the LAST MAJOR BLOCKBUSTER WORLD-CHANGING EVENT!!!

I hope Inhumanity changes that and actually gives us a world that makes sense for the next little while, before they decide to reboot things for the millionth time.
