well if its time your trying to save than digital might not be any faster, especially for a beginner, but the advantage is that could can do a lot more graphically wise than traditional coloring and such, i have a hybrid workflow, i hand draw the figures and surroundings, then i ink and color and letter them digitally that works best for me, as far as tutorials and learning the programs, your best bet is to play with the program to kinda feel your way around and just go on youtube and search for tutorials on specific aspects of what your trying to accomplish i.g. how to use paths, how to use layer masks, etc. also what helped my art jump a few leaps was the book DC's guide to drawing comics, vol 1 and 2 was really helpful and learning tricks ,
