Hello everybody! Here's a new review for Copperhead #1. Great art and great first issue! Check out the full review for the full scoop.

Writer: Jae Faerber

Artist: Scott Godllewski

Colorist: Ron Riley

Publication Date: Sept. 10, 2014

Summary:

Sheriff Clara Bronson and her son Zeke move to the mining city of Copperhead as a result of an unknown event in their past. She quickly rubs everybody in the wrong way.
What I Liked

✔FANTASTIC artwork--Scott Godlewski and Ron Riley create an amazing atmosphere and character design.
✔Dynamic between Sheriff Bronson and Deputy Budroxifinicus (just call him Boo)
✔Strong female lead character!

What I Didn’t Like

✘The pace was slow in some points
✘We don't know what the overall plot/series is about

Themes:

Very briefly explored sexism, racism and politics, but none in depth. Since this is a set up issue that is understandable, but hopefully some of them will be better explored next issue.

Score:

8.5/10
