As promised, a new look at Avengers: Doomsday was released during tonight's World Series Game 1. This isn't the extended clip that some claimed would debut; instead, it's a pretty standard promo with new scenes that are spliced with footage of real baseball players.
In terms of new footage, we return to Earth-828, where the Fantastic Four are attending a baseball game. Reed Richards is pitching, and Johnny Storm is up to bat; The Thing is also on hand, seemingly confirming rumours that these scenes take place when Doctor Doom arrives at the Baxter Building and confronts Sue Storm.
There's a fun moment between Steve Rogers and Thor where the former asks whether him wielding Mjolnir bothers the God of Thunder (spoiler alert: it does). We get a second comedic scene set in Avengers Tower, with Ant-Man getting confused over who to call "Cap": Steve or Sam Wilson.
It's a fun promo aimed at the general audience, not necessarily hardcore fans who are buying a ticket, regardless. Still, there are some intriguing teases for what's to come, and a little levity is welcome after those far more serious trailers.
According to insider @Cryptic4KQual, "There are some more concession reveals next week, promo releasing Diwali week, then I heard the trailer should be expected mid-November. We should also get an exclusive look on Disney+ next month."
