One of the major disappointments from DC's new 52 is that Captain Marvel, aka Shazam, was no where to be found. No title of his own no cameo in another title nothing. It was announced today at New York Comic Con that Captain Marvel will indeed be making a debut in the new 52 very very soon. Geoff Johns will write a back up adventure tale, entitled The Curse Of Shazam, in Justice League. Gary Frank will draw the story with no mention on what the story will be or when we will even see it.

From DC:

Big news out of New York Comic Con: Shazam is coming to DC COMICS-THE NEW 52. Written by NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author Geoff Johns and illustrated by acclaimed artist Gary Frank, THE CURSE OF SHAZAM will unfold as a back-up adventure that will appear in JUSTICE LEAGUE – also written by Johns. What manner of adventure is in store for Billy Batson and his big, red alter ego? It’s too soon to say for sure, but you can bet that THE SOURCE will have all the updates, so stay tuned.

Looks like DC listened to fans who were complaining that Captain Marvel was not apart of the new 52. As stated above the has been no word on when the story will come to fruition, but be on the look out for Shazam soon.
