So with Nolan has confirmed that there will be no Riddler in 'the Dark Knight Rises' which people do seem disappointed about but there are views on how this could be a good thing:

1. With the Riddler out of the way and the big rumor being that killer croc is to be the main villain this would show a diffrent side to Nolan's version of Batman because he has never had to fight a villain like killer croc on the big screen yet.

2. The Riddler is a well known batman villain and has already been done (i know both two-face and the joker have aswell already been done) but the character has characteristics that are similar to joker and two-face, and so a new form of villain could take the story to another level.

What are your feelings on this?

and no Riddler at all is better than this =

I don't want killer croc. And I never wanted the riddler either, if he was nolanised I think he'd be too similar to the joker. And then I'd feel that they only did that to cash in on the popularity of the joker. so it would be shit really and a sellout. Good thing Nolan is bigger than that. I'd personally like to see Gordon Levitt have a crack as the joker. I think he could pull it off and then the films would go the way they were supposed to with the jokers trial. I could also see two face coming back.

so glad the Piddler isn't in this. and I don't really want Killer Croc unless they find some way to do it somewhat realistically. Black Mask and Catwoman make the most sense.

I have never felt all that picky about Villains. Riddler could have been great just as so many others could be. All in who they pick and how they play it out.

Mostly I find it hard to believe that Nolan will add any real elements of the fantastic to the last movie. It would be nice but I just don't think it will happen.

My biggest question has to do with Batman being alive at the end of the movie. Nobody wants to entertain that notion I know but it is a possibility. And since the next movie will likely be a bloody reboot anyway why not? Nolan has worked hard to keep him a man and men die when they take one risk too many.

@Anil

I think Nolan creates his Stories based on what he thinks is interesting. Fan reaction and such seem to be lesser concerns. I see it as a possibility is all.

I don't expect to see any more Nolan/Bale Batman after this one so why not really end it?

@Anil

Never said 'had to' I said could. If a person is a Fan they would never even consider it. Nolan is not and I think he has at least considered it. If this were the comic book Batman then I would agree that he will not die. Since that is not who this Character is I think it is possible.

Nolan can do whatever he wants because the Audience is pretty much set. It is the last and it will be a hit so he can do whatever he likes. As an artist there is nothing more tempting than doing 'what cannot be done'.

As far as someone else picking up the Nolanverse Batman again that is very unlikely. As soon as Batman 3 hits the screens they will start to talk about the reboot. With any luck the next movie will connect to some of the other DC moves so they can get started on building an actual DCU.

Well we will see Brazilianbatman. I do not believe reboots are ever driven by artistic concerns but rather financial and practical ones. When they lose Nolan & Bale I expect them to want to start over, perhaps with someone they can sign to a long-term deal.
