Hey all,

As you've noticed, I have recently been posting heavy amounts of Batman FanFic, and have come to the conclusion that it's over saturation. There are roughly 5 different Batman FanFic series currently running here on CBM, so I decided to post something different. I am an aspiring actor, and hope to one day be a director. If that does eventually happens, I would like to reboot Star Wars. Yes, that's blasphemous to some of you but in my opinion the franchise is broken beyond repair. Some people like the prequels, but the majority vote is that they were terrible, and that's my opinion as well. I would start with Episode I and work up from there, but the stories would be different. I haven't given this a throughly detailed amount of thought, so apologies if it seems rough to you. Here we go...

Star Wars Episode I: The Prophecy Begins

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, there was a thriving empire known as the Jedi Empire. They relied on a mystical power called the Force and the use of a combination of sword and laser, a lightsaber. But a new threat is rising, and it is in the Empire itself. Whilst searching for new recruits, leading Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi crashes on a distant planet called Earth, where no Force activity has ever been reported. Which is why Obi-Wan is shocked to find a new Jedi, who is extremely strong with the Force. Obi-Wan feels as though he is being rash, but he has reason to believe that the child is the one destined to bring balance to the Force, written so in the Great Prophecy. Together, they have to battle the evil government of Earth who are desperate for him to share the Jedi's technology with them, and he realises that whatever problems the Jedi Empire had, they pale in comparison to the situation on Earth.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: James Mcavoy

A fan favourite for the role, Mcavoy would be great as Kenobi. He just seems like a perfect replica of the character, and he's played similar characters before.

Anakin Skywalker: Asa Butterfield

Yes, Anakin would be a kid in this movie. Asa is an awesome actor, he was great in The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas and I feel that some of his character's traits in that movie would be represented here. And don't worry, I'm sure he could put on an American accent for the role.

Commander George Rothwell: Liam Neeson

Yeah, he was in the original prequels as Qui-Gon but I thoroughly believe that he should be given a role in a Star Wars reboot. He is a great actor and would do great in this role. He is the villain of the movie; the one specifically hired by the President to track down the Jedi. I was originally going to cast Stephen Lang from his role in Avatar but decided to go with Neeson instead.

Senator Palpatine: Mark Strong

A younger Palpatine? Blasphemy! As we all know, Palpatine was one of the main villains throughout the original Star Wars saga, and will be represented the same here. Strong is a phenomanal villain actor and would do great as Palpatine, even if he gets a little scarred along the way...

Well that is that! Share your thoughts in the comments below, and look out for the other fancasts for my rebooted Star Wars saga in the future! P.S In case you were wondering, Frank Oz will voice Yoda.

Dude, you're definitely thinking outside the box here...and for that, I commend you.

But ANY prequel HAS to be in accordance with what was DESCRIBED as past events by Obi-Wan and Yoda in SW 4 & 5. Sorry.

Fan casts are great, but they usually stay that way...

As for headlopper's comment, which was refuted as fabrication in the comments of one of his own articles:

I like the cast, good job!! The story, uh well it sounds good up until the part were obi wan has to fight the gov or whatever. I do like where your story is going but i think it would be better if the second half of the story was different. I don't know if I make sense haha anyways good cast, im looking forward to seeing who else you cast later on.

@silverhawk- It wouldn't really be fighting the government, everybody knows that the prophecy tells of a young boy to be found on a distant planet who shall bring balance to the Force, and Obi-Wan is desperate to find a way off of Earth. :P

@kriswone/headlopper- The quotes should probably have been explored in the prequels, but Lucas didn't have the ideas for Empire Strikes Back or Return of the Jedi back then, so he would have abandoned them. Darth Vader wasn't even Luke's father when Lucas was making Star Wars.

@nowtheresaBATman- It's just the first part, there are 5 more I need to do dude :P

Like the idea but i need some clarification. Since you said at the beginning of your synoposis you said quote "A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away" so that means when Obi-Wan lands on earth he will be in like the 1800's or something, not modern days.

Very nice stuff, Dude. McAvoy would make an awesome Kenobi. And its better than the prequels that Lucas gave us.

I really like what you've got here. There just needs to be more of an actual cast. Maybe you should do an 'extended fan cast' before you do Episode II.

The reason I haven't done a larger cast is because most of the other characters are hardly in it at all, it's mainly these 4 (and Anakin's mum). And in case you were wondering, the reason why a human kid is called Anakin Skywalker will be explained.

@ftoons- Yep, I'm remaking/rebooting the whole saga. Focusing on Episode 2 at the moment:)

@headlopper- Yeah, I'm going where no man has gone before :)

I love your cast especially Butterfield as Anakin Skywalker, but where is the rest of your cast like Qui-Gon Jinn, Darth Maul, Padme Amidala, Shmi Skywalker, Jar Jar Binks, etc.
MovieMaster
MovieMaster - 1/21/2012, 3:02 AM
@Shadow11- This is a reboot of the prequels, so most of those characters aren't in it or have been changed. Qui-Gon isn't in the trilogy, Darth Maul.... Well, spoilers :P, Padme isn't in this, she's in the sequel, Shmi is in it and she would be played by Evangeline Lily, I only wanted to cast the major characters. And Jar Jar Binks................... NO!
