The Batman Part II New Look Revealed As Matt Reeves Celebrates Batman Day

The Batman Part II director Matt Reeves has celebrated "Batman Day" by sharing a new look at Robert Pattinson's Caped Crusader directly from the sequel's set in London, England.

Today, September 19, is "Batman Day." What makes this one different from the past few years is that a Batman movie is currently being filmed, meaning we have a new look at 2028's The Batman Part II from filmmaker Matt Reeves.

Shared straight from the sequel's set in London, England, the photo shows Robert Pattinson's Dark Knight in a shadow setting. Is he exploring the Court of Owls' headquarters beneath Gotham City? We can only speculate for now, but this is a suitably moody shot, regardless.

We likely won't get the first trailer for The Batman Part II until next summer, when Man of Tomorrow lands in theaters, so even a small tease like this is welcome.

DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has also marked Batman Day with a piece of comic book art by Sam Kieth. Disappointingly, there's no update from the filmmaker on The Brave and the Bold, the DCU-set Batman movie first announced at the start of 2023. It's also unclear whether today will bring any Clayface reveals.

Still, keeping the spotlight on The Batman Part II isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially as the movie is one of the most highly anticipated sequels in recent memory.

Asked how work on The Batman Part II is going, Pattinson recently said, "It's good. I'm definitely feeling my age when fighting a lot. I'm literally like, 'Goddamn, this is significantly harder than it used to be.' But it’s really fun. And I think the movie’s going to be pretty great. It’s got a really, really fun cast, but it’s a marathon."

"Yeah, I've never done anything like this before," he continued. "I've literally been going nonstop since after the actors' and writers' strikes. I was doing a movie with Adam McKay, which fell apart, and I ended up having a big period where I wasn't working when I recalibrated what I wanted to do."

Directed by Matt Reeves from a script by him and Mattson Tomlin, The Batman Part II stars Robert Pattinson, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, Charles Dance, Jayme Lawson, Gil Perez-Abraham, Sebastian Koch, and Brian Tyree Henry.

The Batman Part II is set to be released in theaters on February 18, 2028.

Was hoping he’d make the suit even more comic accurate without the mask line and less armor/more form directing muscular look
