Tom Hardy Mystery Solved!

Tom Hardy Mystery Solved!

Do you really think that a relatively unknown actor is going to play a main villain in what's sure to be one of the most anticipated movie of the year? PLUS: Speculation on who the villain will be and the perfect ending to the Batman trilogy...

So IMDb says that Tom Hardy is rumored to play Det. Harvey Bullock in 'Batman 3'. Granted IMDb isn't always correct in the long run, but in this case I sure hope they are. Here's a quick bio of Bullock if you're not familiar:

Detective Harvey Bullock is a lieutenant placed in the Gotham City Police Department to undermine James Gordon, Bullock became an honest cop, later working for the government's secret Checkmate organization before returning to Gotham. Seldom seen without either a doughnut or a cigar, Harvey had the respect of his colleagues and the vigilante heroes of the city. He was enraged when Commissioner James Gordon was shot, recently, and arranged for some mobsters to deal with the killer, Jordan Rich, who otherwise would have got away scott free. When this came to the attention of internal affairs, Bullock quit the force.

It would make sense as well that Bullock wasn't featured in the previous movies because as his bio states, he was off working with the government for awhile. This also presents an idea for the best conclusion to Chris Nolan's final Bat-flick. As Chris has said before, this will indeed be a conclusion to his story; and what better way to end it all with Batman deciding to stay on duty as Batman forever? (Get it? 'Forever'?) After all, he won't have much else of a choice now that Chris Nolan plans to KILL JIM GORDON. DUN DUN DUN DUN......

Did I say Chris Nolan? I'm sorry, I meant RED HOOD; Another idea I thought of while watching 'The Dark Knight' last night. The Joker may be gone in a sense that Heath Ledger's character won't be re-cast, but that doesn't mean the man behind the makeup went anywhere. As he predicted, the Joker and Batman are destined to be enemies forever. (There's that word again!) And come on, how cool would it be if at the end of the movie, Batman finally unmasks Red Hood and sees scars on the man's face? Scars that make sure he's 'always smiling'? I think another actor would be perfectly acceptable since Heath Ledger is barely recognizable underneath the clown makeup as well as the fact that this version of the character would be like a whole other person entirely. But since I'm a bit obsessive compulsive, my top choice is Joseph Gordon-Levitt since the two actors sort of look alike.

And just for kicks, let's say that Ra's al Ghul hired Joker to go after Batman. That would wrap things up pretty nicely if Nolan decides to go with a premise like this one. I mean, who needs the Riddler to complicate things when you can keep things familiar and stay focused on the original characters? The pay-off is always greater when everything turns out to be linked up and all the characters were connected throughout the entire trilogy even though they may not have known it. Think of the 'Back to the Future' trilogy and tell me I'm wrong...Didn't think so.

Although it would be good, I doubt it's true. IMDb is a terrible source. But as for your other ideas, gotta say I can't really see em'.

Hush

That sounds plausible but i think he would want the end to be a little more epic, as if your idea wasn't epic enough for an ending. I'd like to think Chris may leave us hanging on for more at the end. I like the reference to "Batman Forever" though, it would be a nice touch.

Possible, but I think we want a villain!

By the way - just a thought... Regarding 'Croc, remember this guy from TDK?

Take a look at his skin: carved, and may be some kind of scales... And he's big, black! May he be the Croc? Just guessing!

@Chris McLellan

"Do you really think that a relatively unknown actor is going to play a main villain in what's sure to be one of the most anticipated movie of the year?"

not sure about this cause Cillian Murphy and Aaron Eckhart are not big name actors and they both played main comicbook villains. Tom Hardy profile has shot up even more cause his performance in Bronson, Inception and he is been casted as the lead in Mad Max.

IMDb sucks when it comes to info about casting. they had Tom Hardy been casted as Killer Croc even though their is no info about him been casted in the rolethey are just rumors.

how u forget his the one who throw the detonator out the window of the boat.

"Harvey Bullock later on works for the secret organisation Checkmate"...... Hmmmmmmmmmmm well in The Green Lantern Movie, there will be a Dr. Amanda Waller who is in Charge of Checkmate... So it could be an actuall posibility for Chris Nolan to expand his universe, finnaly!!!!! So we could see at the end of Batman 3 Harvey Bullock in a secret room with a Checkmate symbol on the wall, speaking to Amanda Waller, then the movie ends...

Bullock being in this would make sense, cause Batman is now literally an outlaw and Bullock would come in Gotham to hunt him. While Gordon is trying to secrectly help Bats.

My villain choices
Bane
Talia Al Ghul
Rupert Thorne
Dr. Hugo Strange
And
Hush

why wouldnt nolan cast an relatively unknown actor for a villian role???

I would also argue that Tom Hardy is just as well known as Gordon Levitt so your logic makes no sense

not a bad editorial style piece but you shouldnt present opinions and rumours as factually as you do

like the ideas but as seen in tdk joker doesnt want money he just wants to see the world burn so not hired and if there will be red hood then youve gotta have dick grayson as nightwing at that point and based in 15 years after tdk after dick grayson persay just after tdk at 12 years old leave to become nightwing at 19-20 in 2017-18 and by the time of red hood dick will be mature nightwing age 26 so 2023-24 so films based in 2023-24

@ jolt-I mentioned Tiny before as Croc when TDK came out. It would be a great pick. I'm also for bringing back William Fichtner

Tom Hardy actually was in Black Hawk Down, Star Trek Nemesis, Layer Cake, Bronson, RocknRolla, Inception so i guess them movie roles dont mean nothing then.

I think Ras Al Ghul should be the villan again, disguising himself as the Red Hood, the Riddler (who should be played by John Simm) should play a simular role to Scarecrow in Batman Begins working for Ras Al Ghul. It would be nice if the third Batman Movie reveals that Ras Al Ghul was involved in the creation of the Joker. I think if Talia Al Ghul is in Batman 3, she should be played by EastEnders actress Kara Tointon. I also think Harley Quinn should make a cameo in the film as an intern not yet as the Jokers companion and should be portrayed by EastEnders Actress Rita Simons. i would also like Scarecrow (If you want to bring Killer Croc (Who i think should be played by Goldie) to Batman 3, Scarecrow and Killer Croc would make a good match) and Victor Zsasz to be back in Batman 3

Too intelligent? L. O. And indeed, L.

Okay, sure. It was a joke, whatever you say.

I just find your Bullock theory incredibly flimsy.

Dude Tom Hardy will be Solomon Grundy... I predict it now. A realistic nolanverse Solomon Grundy. No one will even see it coming except me. Filming in New Orleans (most people think Killer Croc, I think Solomon Grundy). Solomon Grundy was dumped in the swamps of new orleans and came out as Solomon Grundy and became a great foe of Batman's for a while. Just food for thought.

i think it would be epic to bring Liam Nesson back as Ra's and be the main villian....Like maybe Ra's got off the train somehow and it will kinda help Ra being invincible without him being invincible
