When I first heard they were planning to do a Justice League of America movie I was super excited. Then it happened, no Superman or Batman. Are you serious? They are going to take out two of the most relatable characters? I know what you’re thinking how can I relate to Superman or Batman? Well sir of madam here is how I think you can identify with these character.

Superman: This is the hard one because let’s face it, he is Superman he can do it all. The main point I want to make with him is that Superman is as American as they come. With standing for “Truth, Justice, and the American way” he is a symbol for what American patriots want to be. At his heart he is just a farm boy that puts people and country before anything else. He is the type of role model that stands for something that you can be proud of: The USA. If you take Supes out you might as well call it the Justice League and not the Justice League of America.

A little down on the USA right now? Then how about this…….

Batman: Yeah Batman is rich and has endless resources, but if you took the time to be a great detective (and let’s face who really has the time to devote to it) and to get your body in to great physical shape then you are well on your way being what he is. What Batman does in the JLA is make it human. You have all these super powered beings, and this one guy who is more than likely smarter than all of them. If you take Batman out you take the only character that you can look at and say, wow I could be that guy.

I hope Warner Brother does the right thing and puts these two great characters in a setting that so many people want to see.

PS: Be gentle it’s my first article.

Great editorial! :) I wouldnt worry though - there is no way that DC/WB would be stupid enough not to include two of their flagship characters in a JLA movie! Like any rumour from an inside source, it's best to take it with a huge pinch of salt IMO!

Yeah, BATS & SUPES really needs to be in JLA!

Even if its a cameo at the end ready and set up for a sequel, though thats only the case if they (WB) do JLA YEAR ONE proper!

Otherwise they gotta be in it!

Waylon @ Gr8 first article dude!

Great article Waylon! I have to agree with Josh on this one. I would be SHOCKED if there no JLA easter eggs in Nonal's Batman 3 (the dude is producing the next Superman movie with his brother to direct for crying out loud).

One reason you forgot to mention about Batman being in JLA is guess who funded the Watchtower? Who is rich enough? Yup you guessed it

It should be a CGI movie, made a lot like the recent DC universe Online trailer.

That would solve all the problems.

@Clabo: Good call. Bats is pretty central (as is Supes). Technically, they were not a part of the original team, but Cap, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Nick Furry, and Agent Colson weren't a part of the original Avengers team either. I'd be very surprised if they got left out.

@ claybo4131 That is an excellent point. I was more commenting on how audiences can relate to these characters better than the others.

Nice first article man!
Not putting Batman And Superman on a JLA movie is retarded, is like The Avengers witohut Iron Man and Captain America, WB would not screw up like that. Let´s hope that Batman 3, GL and the new Superman starts to make a universe with easter eggs and all.

warner will not leave out two of the biggest, most popular comic icons in the history of comics.

it would the most stupid descion, since casting vinny jones as the juggernaunt(juggernaunt should of been cgi.)

i dont think warner is that stupid, but i have to say, if they r going to make a JLA movie with them, then i want it to be like Dc Universe or another plot, preferably the begginning. lol!

@WaylonJones....NICE first article....I just hope that Superman and Batman get a mention in the Justice league movie but I don't think they need to appear in one just yet....

Well the main reason, Batman and Superman are the summit of the mountain for DC, but there were lots of reasons why they are just as important, besides Batmans money, plus Superman brings the morality as well

good article buddy!

I really like this part about Batman: "You have all these super powered beings, and this one guy who is more than likely smarter than all of them. If you take Batman out you take the only character that you can look at and say, wow I could be that guy."

I have to agree with this article 100%. In the first appearance of the JLA, Batman and Superman DID appear in the issue, but they didn't have a whole lot to do with the story, OR the main battle with Starro. Comic fans will tell you that they are not initially needed for a JLA movie. I think thats ridiculous. Comic fans are NOT what make CBM's successful. The general audience is. I think the general audience would be a LOT more likely to go see a JLA movie if Supes and Bats were in it.

Its really all a moot point though, because of Nolan. The guy makes great movies, but he really pisses me off. He doesn't want to work with DC in putting his versions of Bats and Supes in a JLA movie. Arguably the two most popular/important leaguers. its really a shame. and for DC to work around that attitude makes me even more mad.

While I want both in a JL movie (I hope they drop the America), I could stand it if they wernt. Frankly, Im kinda moreso hoping for Aquaman and Wonder Woman. They need to get moreso in the public eye, especially Aquaman, who is possibly the most mainstream underrated character of all time. And about Batman, no way will it be Nolan's version. And honestly, would you really want a Batman who has trouble with a pack of dogs going up against the likes of Darkseid?
naterator
naterator - 8/12/2010, 9:54 PM
why in the world would you want to drop the AMERICA out of the Justice League? It kills ya to be a smidge bit patriotic... thats one thing i loved about the spidey films.....very AMERICAN and PATRIOTIC with spidey witht he flag and its one of the only beefs i had with SR,,,,not an AMERICAN FLAG and even having Perry White reciting the phrase incorrectly...he says TRUTH< JUSTICE>>>>ALL THAT STUFF.....GRRRR. TRUTH < JUSTICE AND THE AMERICAN WAY..... whats wrong with hollywood these days? I mean they practically obliterated CAPtain Americas STAR on his chest and they changed WW costume,,,,, where does it end? As it stands the fricking CONSTITITUTION of the USA is dangling by a thread....im just disgusted at some people. have some pride dammit!

I just dont like the fact that there name implies there allegiance with a one country. The Justice League should be heroes to the whole world! Hell, Green Lantern is supposed to be a cop for an entire sector. Superman, Ill understand is America's hero. Ill even concede Wonder Woman (even if she only wears our colors cuz of an American woman who saved Themyscira). Batmnan is iffy I think. J'onn J'onzz is also kinda Earth's hero. Id also be willing to give you Flash But Aquamna?? Hes the ruler of another whole nation! Im in no way unpatriotic, I just think that by tying the League to one nation, we take a step away from the unity that heroes so often stand for.

The JLA is names as such because its effort is to free people from bondage.....to sabe ...to make free....LIBERTY and AMERICA is the epitome of FREEDOM. GL was an intergalactic cop yes but his roots and morals were grounded in the USA which gave him the desire to want to do good intergalactically. SUPERMAN is a given, yes. WW same as SUPERMAN and your right,,,,she wore our colors out of respect for the land that set her home FREE. How is BATMAN iffy? hes an american entrpeneur...the biggest capatalist in the nation... and uses his talent to bring justice to the map. MARTIAN MH..ok yes he is a hero to EARTH....but everyone in the JLA is....its of AMERICA because they were established here....not in another country. just because its JLA doesnt mean they only do good for the USA. Flash a given. Aquaman...granted....the whole point is what they stand for and the word AMERICA simply gives definition to the organization. ITS PATRIOTIC. Just one more thing that makes you feel good to be an AMERICAN ;)
OmegaBlack13
OmegaBlack13 - 8/13/2010, 8:02 AM
While I do agree that America epitomizes freedom, saying that they are "of America" just feels like other countries in the world are considered inferior. Also, I wouldnt say that Diana Trevor "freed" the Amazons, but moreso shot a monster with a gun. So, do you think if they had gotten together in China it'd be the JLC?
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 8/13/2010, 9:52 AM
@ Omega

"So, do you think if they had gotten together in China it'd be the JLC?"

No, they all live in America. So i think that kind of speaks for itself. If they were all FROM China, then yeah, probably. lol
OmegaBlack13
OmegaBlack13 - 8/15/2010, 7:25 PM
Actually only 4 live in the USA and GL has a responsibily to the entire world. I the China thing cuz naterator said it was founded in America. And I think it was Antartica where they got together anyway.
