Marvel Studios' 2023 Disney+ Slate Has Been "Narrowed" With Some Shows Pushing Into 2024 Or Beyond

More big changes appear to be on the horizon for the MCU slate in 2023, with a number of Disney+ TV shows expected to be pushed into 2024 and possibly beyond. Find everything we know so far after the jump!

We've been hearing rumblings for months that Marvel Studios is making some changes to its 2023 slate, with a number of Disney+ TV shows on the way likely pushed into 2024.

As things stand, this year alone was expected to see the launch of Secret Invasion, Loki season 2, What If...? season 2, Ironheart, Echo, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, and X-Men '97. However, three months into the year and none of them have a premiere date, a move which suggests there's no way for all of these shows to stream within the next 9 months.

Now, that's been confirmed by Variety in their report about Victoria Alonso's shock firing. She was tasked with overseeing VFX and post-production on all MCU projects but, as the pressure has mounted, it seems the way she conducted herself was deemed unacceptable by Disney.

"Insiders say the five Disney+ series from Marvel Studios that had been scheduled to debut in 2023 have been narrowed to three or four," the trade reveals, "with the others moving into 2024 and possibly beyond. That will take some of the immediate pressure off of Marvel’s post-production pipeline."

Secret Invasion and Loki season 2 are likely a lock for this year, while we'd guess Echo will be a priority for Marvel Studios as well seeing as it's likely to lead directly into the events of Daredevil: Born Again

When Marvel Studios will officially shed some light on plans to shift around and delay the entire Multiverse Saga slate remains to be seen, but it's surely coming.

We'd also guess that this means there are no plans to release Special Presentations this year, a shame considering the fact Werewolf by Night and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special were among the MCU's best offerings in 2022.

Hopefully, we'll have some more concrete details to share with you soon.

Scrap Ironheart,Agatha,Wonder Man and Echo. No point in doing Wonder Man without Iron Man.

@GodHercules20 - why? it's not like the MCU is a 100% translation of the comics anyway.

@GodHercules20 - Yeah not really looking forward to any of those shows. You can add the Wakanda series to the list as well.

This is a good thing. Half the D+ shows have been crap. Slow it down, do them right, or don't do them at all.

More time for post production won’t really fix a shitty script or a shitty director. The VFX might look slightly less like garbage but that’s it.

Marvel needs a complete change in leadership because whatever they’re doing now isn’t working.

Can Iron Heart, Armor Wars, Agatha, Wonder Man and Echo. Nobody will be watching any of those.

@IronMan616 - Totally agree, there's so much in the pipeline that fans are tepid about so the general public will swerve altogether. Iron Heart and Echo are box ticking exercises, Armour Wars feels like another Transformers style boreathon, Agatha a special at best and Wonder Man (apart from a corny name) is nothing without the Tony Stark/Iron Man elements to his story. Lose 'em all
