Shailene Woodley Would Love To Star In A Superhero Movie "If It Was Marvel"

The Divergent actress' only brush with a comic book movie came when she was cast as Mary Jane Watson in Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but then had her role cut from the final film. That hasn't dissuaded her though, as Miss Woodley now has her sights set on Marvel Studios.

Shailene Woodley hasn't had the best luck with superhero flicks so far, having had her role as MJ cut from the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man when it was felt the emphasis should be kept on the relationship between Peter (Andrew Garfield) and Gwen (Emma Stone). Still, many would say she actually dodged a bullet there, and there are plenty more opportunities for the talented young actress to cape-up in future projects. While talking to MTV UK, Woodley admits that she's love to appear in a superhero movie...as long as it was a Marvel one! Though she does also briefly mention her fondness for Fox's output too. No love for DC/Warner Bros.?

"I would love to be in a superhero movie if it was Marvel. Their movies are so much fun to watch. They take you on a ride. I love how they’re all interconnected.” “I respond to independent films when I watch movies, because I love to feel affected on a very human, stripped level, but there’s something about going to those big blockbuster films where you watch people fly across the sky and have long stretchy arms and supernatural powers… it’s a form of escapism. It’s like reading a very fictional book. I enjoy it."

Marvel Studios recently announced their film slate right up to 2019, so there are definitely no shortage of roles for Woodley should she choose to pursue this. Do you think she'd suit any character in particular? Sound off in the usual place.
