Reacher Star Agnez Mo Responds To Being Fan-Cast As Psylocke In MCU X-Men Reboot

Betsy Braddock, aka Psylocke, really hasn't been done justice on the big screen yet, but that will change if Reacher Season 4 star Agnez Mo has her way...

Agnez Mo has been getting a lot of attention for her role as Lila in season 4 of Prime Video's Reacher, and the Indonesian singer/songwriter turned actress has now shown interest in joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Mo shared an enthusiastic response to an X post fan-casting her as the X-Men's Psylocke.

Betsy Braddock has previously been played in live action by three different actresses: Mei Melançon in X-Men: The Last Stand, Olivia Munn in X-Men: Apocalypse, and Aisha Hussein in Deadpool and Wolverine.

Munn's take got the most screen time and was by far the most comic-accurate, but fans of the character still feel that the psychic mutant warrior should be more prominently featured in Marvel's Mutant Saga.

Psylocke is not expected to appear in the first MCU X-Men movie, but we have heard that there are several X-related big and small screen projects in the pipeline.

The cast members who were announced at D23 are: Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day's Sadie Sink as Jean Grey.

We are expecting a few more additions (Beast and Magneto, at the very least), but it's looking like the rumor that the core team will consist of the OG comic book crew (Cyclops, Jean, Beast, Ice-Man, and Angel) may not have been accurate.

Director Jake Schreier said the following in a post-event interview with GMA.

“Digging into those comics like the Chris Claremont run and the newer Jonathan Hickman stuff. There are so many stories that are still untold.”

Sonny Lee Sung Jin (Beef) and Joanna Calo (The Bear) recently came aboard to write a new draft of Michael Lesslie's script.

Kevin Feige teased Marvel's plans for the X-Men shortly after SDCC.

"Acquiring the X-Men rights isn't just about... for example, Wolverine is an outstanding character, and we were able to team him up with Deadpool, which is great. But the X-Men are far more than just Wolverine, far more than the original team; fundamentally, it's a universe, a multi-stage saga. Much of that is what we're working towards."

"We’re constantly changing, constantly evolving, but having some guidance helps us act more purposefully, especially with X-Men—it’s already had 10 movies, some very, very good, some I think haven’t lived up to expectations—how do we plan the 'mutant saga' in a very grand way?"

"That being said, we have many more characters to explore in the future—the schedule is already booked until 2042, especially the X-Men," Feige added. "The X-Men have many unexplored characters from the Asia-Pacific region, particularly China, which we're very eager to explore. That's why I'm excited about the X-Men: we can show the world different types of heroes."

First, a special presentation focusing on the mysterious Psylocke.

Then, her past catches up with her, and we see her again in Excalibur.

@Repian - can we please? And I wouldn’t complain if we got spiral and mojo in there, but a straight ninja assassin story would be fine.

@Repian - that could be cool

A Psylocke series even where we get the backstory of a body swap between Kwannon and Betsy Braddock could be fun too…

Have it be a mystery thriller that starts with 2 women waking up in a mysterious room and no memory of how they got there and both say the other is them etc.

She too old! She’s in her 40’s. Smoking hot, but too old for the role and the direction Disney wants to go.

I am watching Reacher S4 (I like it though it’s currently on par with S2 which is my least favorite season so far) where Agnez Mo has been doing well as “Lila” so far & there was even a recent twist with the character in ep 4 that looks like will have her show her action side more in the second half…

In regards to Psylocke , I definitely think she has the looks and seems to be atleast a decent enough actress that I would be cool with her being Kwannon’s Psylocke since let’s remember that her and Betsy Braddock are seperate characters.

If not her then I think Anna Sawai would be a good pick too!!.

Marvel would never hire a complete unknown for such a major role.

X-Men is pretty packed already, would say Unnycanny X-Force, Xcalibur or a Wolverine Vs the Hand movie could feature Elektra also.
