Madame Web Star Sydney Sweeney Suits Up As Wonder Woman In Eye-Popping New Photos

After stealing the show in the otherwise forgettable Madame Web, Sydney Sweeney has caught the attention of DC fans by suiting up as Wonder Woman. Would she be a good fit for the DCU's Diana Prince?

Sydney Sweeney's take on future Spider-Woman, Julia Cornwall, might have been one of the only good things about 2024's Madame Web. Either way, the movie, widely considered one of the worst Marvel adaptations ever, did nothing to slow her momentum in Hollywood.

After headlining Anyone but You with Glen Powell, Sweeney shrugged off Madame Web with impressive performances in Immaculate and The Housemaid. Her return as Cassie Howard in the final season of Euphoria got everyone talking, and she's now heading back to the blockbuster realm with the upcoming Gundam movie.

Rumours continue to swirl about Sweeney potentially joining the MCU and DC, with Black Cat and Emma Frost among the many roles she's been connected to in recent years.

Now, Sweeney is turning heads with an Instagram post that sees her suit up as Wonder Woman. In a gallery of shots shared on social media, we see the actress put on an eye-popping display as Diana Prince (she even sees some action across a floating obstacle course).

While she doesn't look much like Diana, Sweeney is a dead ringer for Emelie, the rogue Amazon in Tom King's Wonder Woman run who gives birth to the villainous Matriarch.

"It’s always fun to be able to be a part of something that’s bigger than yourself," Sweeney previously said of Madame Web. "I hadn’t done a studio film yet, and I had started my production company [Fifty-Fifty Films]. I had some properties that I really wanted to be able to take out to studios, and I needed to be able to get my name to have more value, within a studio household."

"Doing a project like that really helps you on in the market. I also wanted to be able to do something that my cousins can watch. I have a bunch of little teenage cousins, and they don’t really understand what I do," she continued. "I thought it would be so cool to be able to do something that they’d actually think was fun and cool."

When it was put to her that Madame Web was a critical and commercial flop, Sweeney responded, "I mean, I had a really fun time, so that is all that matters to me. I think that if you are enjoying what you do, it doesn’t really matter what the outcome is, on a box-office level. Of course, you want the film to be celebrated and loved and successful, because then everyone succeeds."

@FireGunn - Do you complain about everyone who's not dressed to appropriately match a character for at a costume party...? Cause your avatar image I'm happy to quarrel about.

It felt weird when she started rising in popularity because the woke entertainment industry, fueled by ugly women on social media, had a blackout on beauty. Sweeney helped bring back beautiful women but the uglies still have a hold because studios hired so many of them. And they plague the world while they work for influential media outlets as they share their moronic takes on the world.

R.I.P. Roger McKenzie.

Marvel comics writer who worked with Frank Miller's during his legendary Daredevil run in the early '80's and came up with the brilliant idea of what if Captain America running for president. Later the idea was adopted by Roger Stern and John Bryne.
