In an update to their previous report, Deadline have added Marin Ireland's name to the impressive list of actresses that are said to be testing for the lead role in Marvel's 13-part Jessica Jones TV series. Apparently she only became available after her WE legal drama series The Divide was cancelled. Ireland has also appeared in the likes of Law And Order, The Following, and Homeland, and well as movies such as Revolutionary Road, I Am Legend and The Manchurian Candidate. The show will be based on Brian Michael Bendis' Alias comic series, and will deal with "a superhero suffering with post-traumatic stress disorder, which leads to her hanging up her costume and opening her own detective agency, where she ends up helping people and assisting other superheroes."
