Deadline has just reported that Star Wars: The Force Awakens has crossed the $1 billion mark at the international box office! The seventh Star Wars film made $47.3M oversea this weekend, making it the fifth film ever to cross $1B internationally, and the first film under Disney to do so. In Germany, The Force Awakens grossed $100.1 million, and in China, it currently has $95.2M, but will eventually hit $100M in the next few days. As for the film's worldwide gross, that is now up to $1,863.7M, and should hit the $2 billion mark before its run ends.

Aside from the film's international success, another report from EW revealed that the film's four-week run at the top of the box office has finally come to an end. Which film dethroned it? According to the report, Ride Along 2 (which starred Kevin Hart and Ice Cube) made $34 million, making it number one on the weekend. On top of that, The Force Awakens did not get the second spot either. That belongs to The Revenant which grossed $29.5 million over the weekend. The Force Awakens was placed at third with $25.1 million. What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
