Firstshowing sat down with Man Of Steel director Zack Snyder for a very interesting 10 minute interview. Snyder discusses how his directing style has evolved, who he feels he makes movies for, and his apprehension at accepting the Superman gig while in Watchmen mode. "That's a hard jump to make," says Snyder. "I'm deep in Watchmen, I'm deep in deconstructing superheroes..and they say 'hey, you wanna make a Superman movie?' I'm about to tear him down..I'm about to kill him! I have no interest in fixing him, or making him interesting; he's the enemy right now". Obviously that mindset changed! Find out why just after the 5 minute mark, and then right at the end Alex Billington asks Snyder if Man Of Steel is his Star Wars "calling card". Snyder feels that in some ways it is! Take that however you may...we do know the director's name was one of many rumored to be helming one of the spin-offs.
