We already knew 'General Sam Lane' would be joining the likes of 'Red Tornado' and 'Livewire' on Supergirl at some point this season, but now we know who'll play him. According to IGNGlenn Morshower is set to portray the father of Lois and Lucy Lane in a recurring role. His inclusion comes hot on the heels of Jenna Dewan-Tatum's casting as his younger daughter on the CBS show.

Supergirl's General Lane is described as a powerful military lifer and and an overprotective father to both Lucy Lane and her sister, Lois. His arrival in National City stirs up trouble for Supergirl when he enlists her in a dangerous government initiative. Morshower seems to be the perennial military man, having played similar roles in X-Men: First Class, Agents Of SHIELD, The Men Who Stare At Goats and in Michael Bay's first three Transformers movies.

What do you think of Morshower's casting? He certainly appears to be a good fit as the tough-as-nails military veteran. As always, be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments below!

Supergirl premieres Monday, 26 October on CBS.
