Marvel's THE DEFENDERS Is Officially Certified "Fresh" On Rotten Tomatoes

Iron Fist was the first of Netflix's Marvel TV shows to be met with a negative response from critics but it appears as if The Defenders restores this corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to greatness.

The Defenders hit Netflix just a few short hours ago and fans are finally able to delve into the show they've been waiting for since 2014 when Marvel made their plans for Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist clear. While critics have claimed that things get off to a slow start before the heroes come together to battle The Hand, it's clearly been well-received as the show has been Certified Fresh!

With a score of 78%, the
critics consensus says that, "Marvel's The Defenders further develops well-known characters in an action-packed arc whose payoff packs more than enough of a punch to offset its flaws." Reviewers were given access to only four of eight episodes so it's going to be up to us to decide how much of a triumph the series is. Stay tuned this weekend for more on The Defenders

Just started watching.

Loving it so far. Great to see all these characters again.

This show also has my favourite intro of all the Netflix shows.

I'm finishing Iron Fist before watching it. Also, can't sleep, so might as well.

@Spidey91 - Is it possible to watch The Defenders and understand its plot, without having watched Iron Fist first? I don't feel like finishing the latter, but I'd love to see some Daredevil and Luke Cage action tonight.

@OuzoPowerMan - I think so, seems like all you really need to know about is the Hand and you'd know them from DD.

@Spidey91 - You still haven't finished Iron Fist, yet? Haha, I love that. I don't think you're the only one who is now forcing themselves to get through that piece of shit show, just so they can watch this glorious celebration of a Netflix Marvel show.

It's funny. People have to literally force themselves to finish watching Iron Fist months and months later, and yet a good amount of us have just binged all 8 episodes of The Defenders on it's first day of streaming.

@Spidey91 - I have to finish it too, but I just can't. I'll get back to it after Defenders and treat it as a prequel.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - then defenders will be like the original star wars trilogy, and iron fist will be like the prequels.

I still have two episodes of Iron Fist left at the moment, the show is okay but Finn Jones complete lack of fighting skills take me out of the show.
This is made even more blatant when Jessica Henwick has to fight and easily outshines him.
Still looking forward to the Defenders as I've loved DareDevil, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones.

Did I mention I love Henwick
