UPDATE: VisionQuest Returns To An Iconic Location As Mysterious "Client" Speculation Mounts - Spoilers

Episode 6 of VisionQuest takes us back to Madripoor, a location which might just hold the key to discovering the identity of the mysterious "Client."

UPDATE: @AgentedeMarvel has dropped a hint about the Client's identity, revealing that the character is "someone we've already seen and whose name has already been mentioned in the series."

If accurate, this would eliminate Sharon Carter and several potential candidates such as Helen Cho, and would seem to point to the MCU's original AI, J.I.M. Hammond.

Though if you think about it, there are still a few other possibilities!

Original article follows.

In episode 6 of VisionQuest, "Deadlock," we return to Madripoor, the fictional Southeast Asian island commonly associated with Wolverine and the X-Men that has built a reputation as the MCU's very own wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Paladin lures Vision and Lisa to the island by taking Tommy hostage, and they are all ultimately ambushed by Raza Hamidmi al-Wazar (Faran Tahir), the ruthless leader of the 10 Rings terrorist group who targeted Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) in 2008's Iron Man, and has now set his sights on Vision at the behest of the mysterious "Client."

Are we any closer to discerning the identity of this shadowy figure after these latest episodes? There's been speculation that it could be everyone from Dr. Helen Cho to the original Vision AI to J.I.M. Hammond in search of a new body, but the most compelling theory points to a character with close ties to Madripoor itself.

The last time we visited the location was in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, when Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes, and Baron Zemo travelled there to learn more about the Flag-Smashers. In the series finale, it's revealed that Madripoor's de facto ruler, the Power Broker, was none other than Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp).

Carter hasn't been seen or heard from since, but why would she be targeting Vision? How does she know so much about him, and appear to be able to access the Synthezoid's databanks? Could she be working closely with another AI, perhaps?

Sharon is just one of many possibilities, but next week's penultimate episode should give us a lot more to go on.

What did you make of these latest two episodes of VisionQuest? Check out some images from next week's episode below, and let us know in the comments.

"When VisionQuest begins, Vision, rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponize him, has been in hiding. Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and the infamous Ultron. His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s son, reincarnate.

As Vision evades capture, he must confront his nature, resist Ultron’s influence, and unravel the enigma that is his young companion if he’s to survive.”

VisionQuest also stars Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy Maximoff/Speed and Thomas Shepherd, Todd Stashwick as Paladin, T’Nia Miller as Jocasta, Lauren Morais as Lisa Molinari, Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y., Diane Morgan as an associate of Paladin, Polly Frame, Henry Lewis as D.U.M.-E, Jonathan Sayer as U, Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H., and James D’Arcy as J.A.R.V.I.S. Faran Tahir also reprises his Iron Man role as Raza, with Cristian Lavin and Mary McDonnell appearing in undisclosed roles.

The series is directed by Christopher J. Byrne, Gandja Monteiro, Vincenzo Natali, Terry Matalas, and written by Terry Matalas, Cindy Appel, Christopher Monfette, Nicole Falsetti, and Matthew Okumura.

Gonna skip next week and just wait for the finale. Hate waiting for a finale like I did with Lanterns just in case I'm disappointed.

But so far Vision Quest has been awesome. I am now a fan of VISION. Well...at least of this iteration of Vision.

@Irregular - I didn't care for the character at all before this show... I now care slightly more.

@MarkCassidy - Right!? And the scene with Paladin and him in Madripoor was so good too. Especially when you think he's got one step over Vision only for the opposite.

Also love how every scenario to what will happen has already been simulated and calculated for almost every little thing. From preparing to battle, to just simple conversations.

Wild guess, the client is some form of Vision.

@alleverybody - more likely Jim Hammond. They’re spending so much time speaking of him, it feels like a set up for the reveal.

@whoknows - You're likely 100% right. It's Chekhov's android.

Is it Mephisto?

Jim Hammond (OG Human Torch) ?

@cocaegelo - I was thinking the same things they’ve spent some time dropping his lore. I see some ppl thinking Justin hammer. But I don’t see any foreshadowing for Hammer to be the one. OG human torch seems more likely.

Such a random turn for Sharon Carter's character. That said, I'm more likely to bet it's Jim Hammond, which would be weird given how heroic the character is usually portrayed.

It was more wishful thinking on my part that the Client could be Sharon Carter/The Power Broker given the Madripoor of it all but given the ending of FaTWS , she was pardoned and reinstated into the CIA which gave her access to government secrets and prototype weapons which is another reason I felt it could be her but seems unlikely…

Plus she may not even be in Madripoor imo and stateside or somewhere else now post reinstatement.

It makes sense that The Client could be a somehow still alive Dr Phineas Horton who is pretty much the father of A.I in this universe as of now or more likely , J.I.M/The Synthetic Man ( their version of the Android Human Torch) as a ghost in a machine desiring Vision’s body now but we’ll see…

It being the latter would make sense and fit the series thematically so I’m leaning moreso there then anywhere else as of now!!.

Could it be the crazy doctor from Captain America? Isn’t his consciousness now inside a computer. Or has he been defeated/killed?

We all know its Heisenberg and it will be the best crossover episode of any series once revealed.

I guess that the pic of an android on fire from episode 7 is a big clue about who the client is...really like this show so far. Thomas is an injured and bored puppy, but the rest of the cast is amazing, and Spader is brilliant. Really happy that Vision is finally getting some deserved love after the underdeveloped romance (to say the least) he had with Wanda.
