Actor Zachary Quinto Signs Up For The HITMAN Video Game Movie

Zachary Quinto of Star Trek Into Darkness and Heroes fame, will co-star in Fox's sequel to the 2007 Hitman video game movie alongside Homeland actor Rupert Friend.

Zachary Quinto signs up for the Hitman video game movie from Fox


Zachary Quinto has an unspecified role in the upcoming Hitman sequel from Fox. Rupert Friend has also been confirmed as replacing Paul Walker as the title character. Shooting is expected to begin in March. Details on the plot of the film are being kept under wraps. Commercial helmer Aleksander Bach is making his feature film debut and will direct from a script penned by Kyle Ward (Machete Kills), Skip Woods (Hitman ’07, X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and Michael Finch (Predators ’10). The 2007 Hitman film earned $100M worldwide off a $24M production budget.

Didn't care for the first movie but I like Quinto.

It's a franchise with name recognition that is sortof Bourne/Bond-esque. It's probably a safer bet than just doing random generic Borune/Bond-esque thing.

I think Quinto is a pretty good choice for it, for what it's worth. Not necessarily because he's particularly 47-esque (any bald white guy is, pretty much), but because you always get the impression that more is going on beneath the surface with him. That's why he was compelling on Heroes, that's why he was compelling in American Horror Story, and that's why it took two entire movies before you realised THERE'S NO WRITTEN CHARACTER THERE with his Spock.

Given that the action is good, I think could be cool.

Friend is playing 47. It's not confirmed but Quinto will probably be the villain.

I didnt even know this was still happening. But Quinto will prolly play the villain. Or they'll turn the role of Diana into a male role and hes playing 47s handler. I liked the first hitman but IDK if I needed another movie, but since details are being kept under wraps maybe theyre gonna make it a lil closer to the game and surprise us?

You know what? I still haven't watched the first movie.

I mean, I've seen a little here and there, but I've never sat though and watched the whole thing from start to finish.

So Rupert Friend is Agent 47... I could see him playing an assassin.

Wow I thought this movie bombed, can't believe it made that much.

Probably watch it eventually just cause I love Olyphant.

R-rated isn't the damned answer to everything.

The movie with Olyphant was really cool. It didn't follow the exact storyline from the game, but did it really need to? It was a great film on its own, and Timothy Olyphant was boss.
