Mark October 16 on your calendar, because the Street Fighter movie from Capcom, Paramount and Legendary is stepping into the ring for a massive cinematic comeback for the iconic fighting game.
This isn't just another video game movie, the footage is showcasing that this will be a full-throttle martial arts brawl that brings the arcade classics directly to life.
The action holds nothing back, delivering everything from Ryu's explosive Hadoukens to M. Bison flying across the screen with a terrifying Psycho Crusher.
With Andrew Koji (Warrior, Snake Eyes), Noah Centineo (Black Adam, The Recruit), and David Dastmalchian (The Suicide Squad, Murderbot) leading the charge, the film packs top-tier fight choreography while also bringing each character's iconic special moves to life.
If you spent your childhood dumping quarters into arcade cabinets, this just might be the fighting game adaptation that shows that trying to bring a sense of realism to these kinds of games is not what the target audience is looking for.
A new featurette has just been released that showcases a ton of special moves from the film's roster of fighters: Ken is unleashing a Dragonlash Kick, Dhalsim’s classic air dive attack Yoga Mummy can also be seen, along with E. Honda's 100 Hand Slaps and a whole host of other special moves.
Originally scheduled to be released in the United States on March 26, 2026, Street Fighter is now currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 16, 2026.

Director Kitao Sakurai, known for directing the wild comedy Bad Trip, was behind the camera, while the script was penned by Dalan Musson, who previously worked on Captain America: Brave New World.
Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don't, it's GAME OVER! Helmed by director Kitao Sakurai, Street Fighter is set to bring the battle from the arcade to the big screen with Hadoukens, roundhouses, and all your favorite characters.
