Marvel Studios' untitled X-Men reboot is quickly taking shape, and cameras should start rolling later this year. That could mean we get a glimpse of what's to come before the Multiverse Saga is even over, an exciting prospect, especially if it means seeing the team's new costumes.
We know the cast is far from complete, especially as the X-Men's roster is currently pretty light. At the very least, we're expecting Beast and perhaps one or two more mutants to join Professor X's team in the 2028 release.
Then, there's Mister Sinister. While the villain, played by Star Wars actor Adam Driver, is clearly the reboot's big bad, if theories about the Hellfire Club are accurate, then we should expect a few more characters to join him and Emma Frost on screen.
While time will tell on that front, could WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes be set to land a starring role in the movie that's set to kick off the MCU's next Saga?
After recently revealing that he'd visited Marvel Studios' Burbank headquarters, the American Nightmare has shared an Instagram Story that, for no discernible reason, is set to the X-Men '97 theme tune. As you might expect, this has led to a fresh wave of speculation among fans.
Rhodes is no stranger to acting, having appeared in The CW's Arrow as Derek Sampson, The Naked Gun, and as Guile in this September's Street Fighter reboot.
It's possible, of course, that Rhodes might have a voiceover role in X-Men '97 Season 3 or Season 4...or that he's just a fan of that iconic theme tune. Whatever the case, he'd make a fine addition to the X-Men reboot, and could play any number of mutants from the comics. The question now is, who? As always, we'll leave it up to you to share your thoughts in the comments section.
Directed by Jake Schreier (Thunderbolts*), the untitled X-Men movie stars Kit Connor (Heartstopper) as Scott Summers, Sadie Sink (Spider-Man: Brand New Day) as Jean Grey, Christopher Abbott (Catch-22) as Professor Charles Xavier, Inde Navarrette (Obsession) as Rogue, and Maya Boyd (& Juliet) as Storm.
Samara Weaving (Ready or Not) also stars as Emma Frost, alongside Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), who plays Nathaniel Milbury, an alias of Mister Sinister in the comics.
X-Men will be released exclusively in theaters May 5, 2028.
