Avengers: Doomsday Has Already Taken In $40M In Domestic Pre-Sales; New International Teaser Released

Initial advance tickets for Avengers: Doomsday went on sale in July, specifically for Disney's premium "Infinity Vision" large-format screens. Wider global and standard tickets followed last month, and, not too surprisingly, pre-sales were through the roof.

According to @GlobalBoxOffice, Doomsday has already taken in $40 million in pre-sales at the domestic box office, becoming the first movie ever to reach this milestone 100 days out from its theatrical release.

This obviously bodes well for the movie's box office run, although Doomsday achieving Avengers: Endgame-level success in the current climate might be optimistic. That said, Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to climb to the top of the list of biggest movies of all time, recently passing Avatar: The Way of Water to become the third highest-grossing film ever worldwide.

During a recent interview with AP News, co-director Anthony Russo was asked if he believed Doomsday will "restore order" to the MCU.

“It’s a great question. It’s part of the unique challenge. The thing that Joe and I have always appreciated about our collaboration with Marvel is: Our job isn’t to answer for the entirety of the MCU. We intersect it in a very specific way. It’s that intersection which is where we can make sense of things.”

We also have an international teaser for Doomsday. Like the "100 Days" countdown promo, this doesn't feature any new footage, but does spotlight reshuffled shots from both previously released trailers.

For what it's worth, MTTSH has heard from another source who claims that a recent Doomsday test screening was met with a very positive response.

Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars were hit with significant delays last year, with Doomsday now set to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026, and Secret Wars positioned for December 17, 2027.

Both movies will be directed by the Russo brothers, who also make their MCU return after helming Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame

"Universes collide and the Multiverse Saga begins its final chapter in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday. Beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and ultimately face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered. This epic film will lay the foundation for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe."

Doomsday will star:

Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, Florence Pugh as Yelena, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Sebastian Stan as Bucky, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, James Marsden as Cyclops, Channing Tatum as Gambit, and Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent

Along with Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, Tenoch Huerta Mejia as Namor, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, and, of course, Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.

Looks like AI garbage.
I'll watch it today in 14 weeks.
Dune 3 tomorrow in 14 weeks.
I fully expect Dune 3 to be better.

@MarvelZombie616 - I agree. Movie is begging for some practical effects. It looks almost animated in that Doom/Sentinel scene.

X-23 might be in Doomsday or Secret Wars, Dafne Keen just cancelled her appearance at Fan Expo in Dallas, so she might be filming something real soon, or it could be a personal reason, just a heads up.
