Sir Ian McKellen has been playing Magneto since 2000's X-Men, racking up appearances in X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand, The Wolverine, and X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Michael Fassbender took over the role in 20th Century Fox's prequel movies, and rumours have since persisted about McKellen reprising the role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Deadpool & Wolverine. That obviously didn't happen, but the iconic actor will finally return in this December's Avengers: Doomsday.

Now, Hot Toys has revealed its 1/6th scale version of the Master of Magnetism. Revealing some detailed shots of Magneto's MCU costume, this is arguably the best McKellen has looked as the villain, who, in this movie, has joined forces with Professor X and his X-Men.

Both the standard and deluxe versions feature wool-implanted hair, and neither version of this Magneto figure can have his helmet removed. The main appeal of the pricier version will be a base that allows collectors to pose Magneto atop a downed Sentinel.

"The X-Men, it's sort of a threshold moment for them, joining the MCU," Anthony Russo said at Comic-Con this past weekend. "Certainly, those movies were very important in terms of [being] newly relevant to our process."

Some fans were disappointed that there was no mention of the upcoming X-Men reboot during Marvel Studios' Hall H panel in San Diego, but mutants will likely be showcased at D23 next month. After all, if Sadie Sink is playing Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, getting that movie out before adding her to X-Men's cast is a must.

Hot Toys is thrilled to introduce the 1/6th scale Magneto Collectible Figure, inspired by his appearance in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday. Masterfully crafted based on Sir Ian McKellen’s portrayal of the Master of Magnetism, this figure features a newly developed helmeted head sculpt equipped with separate rolling eyeballs. Adding an unparalleled level of realism, the figure boasts meticulously implanted, wavy, light-grey hair made from wool material that extends from beneath his signature helmet.

Standing at approximately 30 cm tall, Magneto’s costume has been perfectly recreated with screen-accurate precision. The tactical ensemble features a tailored long-sleeved tunic, a belt with an X-logo buckle, matching pants, and tall black boots. His commanding silhouette is completed by a dramatic gray cape with a burgundy-colored interior lining. The figure includes six interchangeable hands, allowing for dynamic posing, alongside a specially designed figure stand featuring the Avengers: Doomsday movie logo. A Special Edition available in selected markets will exclusively include a life-sized commemorative metal ring.
