When the Infinity Saga ended, we bid farewell to a number of beloved characters and actors, including Black Widow and Iron Man. Since then, the Multiverse Saga has shifted the franchise's focus to introducing legacy heroes who can keep the mantles, and the MCU, going.
The likes of Sam Wilson, Ironheart, Yelena Belova, and She-Hulk have all taken centre stage during the past couple of Phases, no great surprise after Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige previously said they would never recast roles by taking a James Bond-style approach to characters.
However, with the Multiverse Saga set to culminate with Avengers: Secret Wars, there's already a great deal of discussion surrounding what should come next.
One recent rumour claimed the plan is for that movie to create another Sacred Timeline, effectively rebooting the MCU and ushering in a new era of storytelling. It could mean we actually get to see Steve Rogers and Tony Stark meet the X-Men and Fantastic Four, albeit with new actors in the roles.
Last month, we asked you to cast your votes on whether Marvel Studios should reboot the MCU after the 2027 movie - which may or may not be split into two parts - arrives in theaters.
A resounding 56.76% of you decided "Yes," with 27.65% going for "No," and 15.59% of you understandably deciding to remain on the fence for the time being by voting "Maybe..."
We're obviously not expecting Marvel Studios to take note of this but it may be telling that the vast majority of this site's users are ready to see the MCU start over. By that point, it will have been nearly two decades since Iron Man was released, so a fresh start isn't necessarily the worst idea.
Nothing is confirmed for now, of course, but with so much talk of "superhero fatigue," perhaps we need a new "I am Iron Man" moment to usher in whatever comes next. Introducing a certain team of mutants to the world could do the trick...
