Selina Kyle has changed quite a bit in DC's recent run going from a skin tight spandex wearing thief to a mob boss, and now in issue #39, series writer Genevieve Valentine confirmed her bisexuality. The latest issue saw Kyle and Eiko, the latest woman to take up the Catwoman mantle, lock lips.

Valentine took to her blog and revealed that this was intended to "establish… Selina as canon bisexual." The writer also says that this wasn't meant as "a revelation so much as a confirmation,"

The writer also talks about why she feels Eiko is a good fit for Selina saying, "intelligent, driven, in that uncanny valley of Almost Catwoman, and knows enough about Selina that their honesty has become something of a shelter in a situation that’s getting increasingly dishonest for everybody involved."

Valentine also assures readers who wonder if this means she has forgotten about the Dark Knight explaining, "that is not how bisexuality (or humanity) works." She also explains that Selina's attraction to women is as much a surprise to Selina as it was to the readers

Finally they establish that rather than imply it, I just hope this doesn't get as much hate as the outcry in the walking dead for Aaron's introduction last week, people are ridiculous

@Kingpin

Actually the new writer on her series (this one) is actually doing a pretty good job with it after Nocenti basically made no one want to head her for 2 consecutive years.

Yeah, she does always seem like someone that got feisty with both male and female. The Arkham video game series further enhanced that image IMO.

I always thought Catwoman was bisexual. I always thought she, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy were bisexual.

So Catwoman can be bisexual, but Spiderman can't be biracial, huh?
You guys are so biased!

Is this is a DC case of the movies influencing the comics? For shame!

...and by movies I refer to porn parodies of course. ^^
