I love DC's Philosophy: 1) Reboot totally 2) Siphon off characters to Earth 2 to repair continuity issues (while creating new ones instantly or within months) 3) Return siphoned off characters to mainstream anyway.

Huntress is the new Hawkman. First she's Helena Wayne then, post Crisis, she's Helena Bertinelli- complete with an entirely different personality. Six years after Zero Hour, they inexplicably sanitize most of her background by retconning the sexual assault and boarding school from her history and making it all about her revenge for her mobster parents... and she's not even really a Bertinelli- she's the daughter of Cassamento.

Then, come New 52, she's Helena Wayne again except that she always was Wayne and was just pretending to be Bertinelli, who had died long before ever becoming Huntress, and she's always been on Earth 2 (hence the Wayne, except her previous exploits as Huntress couldn't have possibly been on Earth 2 because her actions are still valid with N52 Batman and Birds of Prey continuity.)

And now she's back mainstream DCU again.

Batman trusts nobody especially somebody claiming to be his "daughter".
