Many people have seen the end credits scene of Guardians of the Galaxy ,some of them stayed at the cinema after the end of the movie for ten minutes to watch it ,and some of them were disappointed .As everyone paid attention to 'Howard the Duck' and 'Cosmo the Space Dog' ,the Collector "Taneleer Tivan" was totally forgotten . Warning : Spoilers ahead ,stop reading if you have not seen the whole movie "Guardians of the Galaxy".
if you have seen the movie ,you might remember the scene where "Nova Prime" and "Denarian Day" are telling Peter Quill that his father is not of Earth (Terra) ,and that he is "Very ancient" .In the comics ,Taneleer Tivan is one of the Elders of the Universe ,which means he is .........ancient ,which might indicate that he is Peter Quill's father.What does it have to do with the end credits scene ?
if we imagined that Taneleer Tivan is Peter Quill's Father ,then he should have been to Earth (Terra) before ,which means that he maybe did things that normal humans do .
Back to the end credits scene ,we saw 'Cosmo the Dog' licking the Collector's face , we also saw him drinking Martini as well as 'Howard the Duck' .
'Howard the Duck' said two things ,number one is :"what do you let him lick you like that for ?" ,of course ,from a talking duck's perspective that has never been to Earth ,it is "Gross" ,but to Taneleer it is normal.
Number two :(after drinking martini) "ahhhhh, but it burns going down" Liqueur burns going down for someone who might drank it for the first time ,or at least who doesn't drink it usually, but it seems that Taneleer drank it before ,because he showed no signs of annoyance .
so maybe the scene had a purpose ,or they made it just for fun ,we will just have to wait and see .
