THE FAMILY CIRCUS to Be Adapted Into Film, Writers Hired

Fox and Walden Media have been trying to turn the long-running newspaper comic strip into a live-action film franchise since 2010. With Nichole Millard and Kathryn Price now hired to write a script, THE FAMILY CIRCUS movie is one step closer to becoming a reality.

42-year-old newspaper strip THE FAMILY CIRCUS was one of the comics I read just to make sure the funnies lasted as long as possible, not out of any real love for the material. The property does have its fanbase, however, and to the not insignificant tune of 13 million books sold, according to Variety.

Variety also reports that THE GAME PLAN writing duo of Nichole Millard and Kathryn Price have been given the job of adapting the strip into a film.

Will the excitement of following little Billy's trail of dashes translate to the silver screen? Time will tell.

Finally! One of those most unfunny, preachiest comic strips is baing made into an undoubtedly unfunny, preachy movie!! I'm sure it will be turned into something completely unrecognizable by the same people who brought you Garfield, and Marmaduke. I already know I will be skipping this, and so will my kid.

@sKeemAn-Now Calvin and Hobbes is something I would LOVE to see, provided they kept the humor and tone of the comic. Don't bastardize it like Hollywood does every other comic strip property! On second thought, please keep Hollywood AWAY from Calvin and Hobbes! lol
