David Self (Road to Perdition, Thirteen Days, The Haunting) will rewrite the big screen adaptation of Marvel Comics' Deathlok comic.
In the comics, Deathlok is the story of a deceased G.I. brought back to life and fused with bionic parts and a computer intelligence that co-inhabits his mind. Hollywood Reporter describes it as centering on "a suburban family man who becomes the test subject for a technology research lab that transforms him into a living computer." It'll be a Paramount picture.
The original script was written by Stu Zicherman and Raven Metzner. Wicker Park's Paul McGuigan may take Lee Tamahori's place as director, the trade said.
