The Flash live action concept

The Flash live action concept

This is what the Flash movie should hopefully look like.

Hi everyone, I'm a long time addict of your site, but this is my first time posting anything so please be gentle.

So why the Flash? Well we all know there's a movie in development somewhere and this character just needs more love than he's' had until now. My idea was to be as realistic as possible (yes it's the Nolan MO again). The use of carbon, kevlar mixed with spider silk and graphite seemed to be the way to go when dealing with a character who's abilities go well beyond the resistance of most materials. I've added a few details such as cast and main titles just for illustration purposes. However I stand by my idea of having Colin Ferguson and Elizabeth Banks for Barry and Iris.

Anyway here it is, hoping you guys & girls will enjoy it...

P.S. Watch out for my next Flash poster coming soon

Not bad, too much lens flares going on though, and what's with the lightening coming out of his eyes?

I like it! Good concept, good execution. I like the lightning coming out of his eyes, it's a good throwback to what will happen to him in the film. I like it a lot!

I noticed you had some actors listed, other than Ferguson and Banks. Who would you have them portray?

@ DocHorrible

Well, if Colin Ferguson gets top billing, I don't think it should be that hard (::SPOILER:: The Flash). Banks... I don't know, probably Iris Allen West.

@RoadDog: I said other than Ferguson and Banks. I meant like Bryan Cranston, Scott Glenn, Kathy Bates, and James Cromwell...

I'm curious, why did you choose Niels Arden Oplev as the director?

Good concept, although the execution could be a lot better! But, I quite like it, nice job. :)

Yea! This is pretty cool. Not for or against the lightning coming from his eyes, but would like to see the poster without it. Good job, man.

Hi everyone and thanks for your critics.
As I mentioned above the cast and crew and mostly up there for illustration purposes but here are my main motives:

Niels Arden Oplev for director isn't something I'd absolutely die for but I must admit his graphic eye and his treatment for loner type characters fits my idea for Barry Allen. Between the Pusher trilogy and Drive he's shown he can tell a story in an original and contemporary way whilst drawing from oldies-but-goldies such Jean-Pierre Melville's "le Samourai", Takeshi Kitano's "Sonatine", or Don Siegel's work.

Colin Ferguson for the Flash/Barry Allen won't probably be even a possibility for the studios (except maybe if his new show is a huge hit) but I must admit his work on Eureka has really made me think he's perfect for Barry Allen.
For starters he's got the perfect physicality and presence for the character. Colin's also versatile enough to make you believe in the always tardy yet deadly focused forensic aswell as the "demi-god" speedster...

Elizabeth Banks for Iris, just because she'd be perfect playing off Colin and she'd make a great strong and smart Iris (I've always thought of that character as Lois without her annoying traits and self-centeredness)

Brian Cranston for the villain. No here's the snag; in my opinion the Flash villains aren't strong and interesting enough as characters to make it into a movie. The best option would be a treatment à la Iron Man, maybe mix up the best from each in Mirror Master?
