What I want to see in a Superman movie

What I want to see in a Superman movie

5 things I want to see in Nolan, and Snyder's Man Of Steel.

I really want a more serious film. I'm not saying that it needs to be more realistic just less campy. Which is most likely the route Nolan will go. Here are some other things I would like to see

1.I don't want to see the same Lex from Donner's films. The comical real estate loving wannabe criminal has to go. We need a sinister evil genius looking to become President by any means necessary.

2. Superman def needs someone to punch or else it just gets boring. If you subtract Batman, and take a note from Public Enemies. Metallo would be an excellent move for the Man of Steel.

3. So far in recent movies Superman has been in the spotlight taking Lois Lanes interviews being publicly seen. I think Nolan wants to take a step back, and make him more of a mystery which is the route I prefer.

4. A set up for possible sequels. Superman II is basically the only movie that can be considered a sequel since we see Zod come back as the villain. If this movie sets up Brainiac as the villain for a sequel my dreams will have come true

5. Finally- I demand a hot Lois Lane

I'm sure most of this has been stated before, but when it's a good idea sometimes it needs to be said more than once.

I love the last one! That actually got me laughing, though I though the most recent Lane was banging she was also not a good Lois Lane.

I agree with everything you said except the first one, all of the Superman movies have been relatively serious, for me at least, granted I know he spun the world in the opposite direction...making time go back? Because that's how time works...right...anyway, they need to have some campy-esque in the movie, that's what makes it a great CBM. Like Iron Man had a little bit of his comical relief robot, though the second movie I think they pushed it too far, but you see what I mean?

agree with all your points but some comedy won't harm it, and this is just in general so its nothing against you, every one knows nolan will be PRODUCING and will have a certain amount of influence in the movie but snyder is the DIRECTOR so its his vision and its his movie which nolan will HELP bring to the big screen and good article dude

Yw @ Stranger, btw good call on METALLO!!!

Hopefully he has some kinda part in it, and as much as I don't mind Returns, that is 100% right about LEX that you said, we need that LEX in the new movie, he wasn't the best in Returns lol, even tho SPACEY didn't do a bad job!

Yeah, ZOD in II would be awesome dude!

I'm still gunning for an Epic DOOMSDAY, but just having SUPERMAN back on the big screen is cool enough!

LOIS, hellz yeah... gr8 read man!

Metallo would be good but I imagine the best way to go is a global threat. I like your mystery element and I think Superman should be viewed sceptically and even feared by the public. Imagine a man of that power coming into our world? No amount of small charities, crime fighting or even war stopping will convince everyone his intentions are honourable. Have him prevent global threat though, that could sway the public view and have him emerge as our saviour....our "Superman".

@StragerX, Based on this list, I think you might REALLY like my take on Superman. I've finished writing it and hope to get part 1 on the site this weekend. We share some very similar ideas.

HOW ABOUT NO LEX! Or at least not have him take the villan's spotlight. It likes Superman always has to be save Lois Lane's behind and prevent Lex's next evil plan that is severe enough to need Superman but not bad enough to have him tried for murder.

I want Brandon Routh's Superman to be a very angry hero and start fighting an enemy with his fists for a change.

I've just finished watching the new Sucker Punch trailer, and I still say Snyder overuses the slo-mo effect. Yeah it's only a trailer, but I still see some slo-mo in scenes that don't really need them. And the CGI work doesn't look as good as I would've hoped(eg: too noticeable fake explosions and fires).

If this is the general outline of what he's bringing in to Superman, then I'll be very disappointed, and I'm sure I won't be the only one. Using slo-mo in a few crucial scenes is one thing, but applying it to every little action scene is downright annoying. You don't have to slow down every little detail for the audience. They're not that dumb(at least most of them aren't).

Brandon Routh's Superman is dead. He won't be throwing any punches, angry or otherwise. And thank the gods for that.

Now, please all you Routh fans who hate Superman so much (I'm assuming you must as I can't see otherwise why you'd want such a poor actor to portray him again) - let it go and let's get behind a new, GOOD actor to play the role - whoever it may be.

You do know Nolan is a PRODUCER for this movie not a writer or a director and you do know what a PRODUCER does right. This article makes you sound like you either don't know what a producer does or that you thought he was the writer or director.
