BOX OFFICE: GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Tracking To Open With $60+ Million

Marvel have been going all out promoting Guardians of the Galaxy recently, and it looks set to pay off for them now as early tracking for the James Gunn helmed movie indicates that it will open with upwards of $60 million, though some say it could hit as much as $80 million...

All of Marvel's movies have been a risk to some degree, but Guardians of the Galaxy is arguably their riskiest venture yet (well, until Ant-Man). It opens in North America on August 1st, but pre-release tracking indicates that Kevin Feige's latest gamble will very much pay off. Data which came in today (via The Wrap)  projects a three day total of $60 million, a great start for a movie featuring such an obscure group of characters who even the geekiest of comic book fans aren't even that familiar with. However, as you can see below, some believe that Guardians of the Galaxy will do even better than that! Its only competition is James Brown biopic Get On Up, starring Chadwick Boseman, and with a production budget of $170 million, we should probably start getting ready for Guardians of the Galaxy 2. How much do you guys think the movie will earn next month?
