Creator John Layman Reveals That CHEW Is No Longer Moving Ahead At Showtime
We don't have specific details as to why, but Chew co-creator John Layman (Detective Comics) has revealed via his Twitter account that the planned small screen adaptation of the series is no longer moving ahead with Showtime. Read on for details!
Chew is a Harvey award and multiple Eisner award winning New York Times Best Selling series from writer John Layman and artist Rob Guillory. Stephen Hopkins (24) has been working on bringing the series to the big screen ever since it was first announced at the San Diego Comic-Con back in 2010. In fact, it was only a few weeks ago that the artist was talking about how well work was progressing on the small screen adaptation ("All the favorite characters are there, and the tone is dead on. Stylistically, it’s about as close as you can get to something as weird as Chew. So right now, we’re basically going back and forth with Showtime."). As you can see from the Tweet below, talks clearly broke down with the network behind the likes of Dexter and Homeland. That's all we know right now, but stay tuned to CBM for further details.
