BOX OFFICE: ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY Has Finally Finished Its Domestic Run

Disney and Lucasfilm's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has finally left its last North American theater after a five month run that leaves the film's domestic box office haul just over half a billion.

After being released in December, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has finally left all North American theaters, finishing its domestic run at $532.2 million.  While some superhero blockbuster films hope for a worldwide gross of $1 billion, the Star Wars anthology film accomplished that feat in just 39 days.  That's especially impressive give the current state of box office revenue splits, which typically fall in the 30% domestic/70% international range.  From an estimated production budget of $200 million, the film has grossed $1.055 billion worldwide for a 51% domestic/49% international split.

Given how close the film is to beating The Dark Knight  ($534.8 million) domestically, should Disney re-release the film in theaters? Perhaps they should do so a few weeks before the release of Episode VIII?

What do you think of its box office run? Sound off below! The Lucasfilm flick is currently available on home media.
