Often after a real life tragedy or disaster, movie studios will alter or completely remove a scene from an upcoming movie if they feel it resembles these events too closely. Recently Warner Bros. reworked a cinema shootout from Gangster Squad after the horrific shootings at a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colo. But was there any pressure to remove a devastating twister sequence from Man Of Steel after an EF5 tornado hit the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore on May 20, killing 24 people? According to Zack Snyder is was never discussed. "He’s changed by those events,” the director told Entertainment Weekly. “If anything, we feel like our Superman has a connection — not to make light of it — to the kind of grief that happens during those kinds of natural disasters. Also, in a sad way, even Superman can’t change that.” And what does Superman himself think? Actor Henry Cavill added, “I hope that everyone who can salvage things can salvage things, grieve if they need to grieve, move on from stuff and repair and rebuild, if they have the opportunity. I can’t even imagine what it’s like.” What do you guys think? Should the scene have been altered or removed entirely? Sound off below.
