AGATHA ALL ALONG's Latest Episode Passes 4 Million Views; Official Look At Aubrey Plaza As [SPOILER] Released

Marvel's latest Disney+ series, Agatha All Along, has proven to be more popular than anyone anticipated, with the latest episode passing 4 million views after a single day of streaming...

Agatha All Along started off fairly strong with 9.3 million views in its first seven days of streaming, and the show's audience has continued to grow over the past few weeks.

According to Deadline, the latest episode of the WandaVision spin-off - a time-hopping tragedy focusing on Patti Lupone's Lilia Calderu - conjured 4.2 million views globally after just one day of streaming, up 35% from the series premiere.

Though not officially announced, Marvel Studios is believed to be developing at least one spin-off series, likely focusing on Wiccan and his search for his brother, Tommy Maximoff.

Spoilers follow.

“Death’s Hand in Mine” concluded with Lilia giving her life to save the rest of her makeshift coven, but before she accepted her fate, she discovered the true identity of Rio Vidal (Aubrey Plaza).

Now, Marvel Studios has released a first official look at Lady Death.

How this personification of Death will factor into the season finale (and the MCU going forward) remains to be seen, but we have a feeling her falling out with former lover Agatha Harkness will have something to do with Agatha's decision to sacrifice her own son, Nicholas Scratch, for more power.

The new series focuses on Kathryn Hahn’s character, Agatha Harkness, from the acclaimed Marvel Studios’ series WandaVision, as she sets off on a dangerous, mysterious adventure filled with trials and tribulations. Showrunner Jac Schaeffer, who was the creative force behind WandaVision, directs the pilot episode.

"In Agatha All Along, the infamous Agatha Harkness finds herself down and out of power after a suspicious goth Teen helps break her free from a distorted spell. Her interest is piqued when he begs her to take him on the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they’re missing. Together, Agatha and this mysterious Teen pull together a desperate coven, and set off down, down, down The Road…"

In addition to Kathryn Hahn, Agatha All Along stars Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, with Debra Jo Rupp, with Patti LuPone, and Aubrey Plaza. The executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Mary Livanos and Jac Schaeffer. The directors for the series include Jac Schaeffer, Rachel Goldberg and Gandja Montiero.

The seventh episode of Agatha All Along is now streaming on Disney+.

Nice! I have been a fan of this one since day one! Not mind blowing, not excessive. Nothing in your face in any political direction while remaining diverse, and story appropriate reasons for diversity inclusion without forcing anything. Light takes, well acted, like an old Halloween special level and it works! Plus Aubrey Plaza is hot AF

And that's what happens when u make a good [frick]ing thing. Audience shows up and grows. If they stick the landing with the finale, this will rank very very high for me.

Aubrey Plaza is just awesome. After Parks wrapped up, she's been in some epic, small-time films.
Most of all: I absolutely LOVED her turn in the show LEGION on FX. Such an underrated show and she was the icing on the cake for sure.

@lazlodaytona - I loved the first season but the other seasons were OK.

@marvel72 - I can't argue that.

Great views at a reasonable cost. What an idea !

Given there is going to be a divide over what gets into a movie versus a D+ series I think this is very encouraging.

The last two episodes were some very strong TV. The Lillia episode was incredible, loved the way they showed how that kind of power worked. Her lines about how time doesn't flow in a straight line made me think of Kang's monologue in Quantumania, and the connection there was really fun for me.

And, the Lady Death reveal was KILLER. Creepy and intimidating. And they saved the reveal for a character moment for Lillia, not just a last second end of episode thing. Very cool

I don't know how Marvel calculate views but the second episode already fell to 10 on Nielsen.

Also, half the views in less days only matters if the episode hits the 9.3 views its being compared to. Otherwise, its a 5m viewer drop. This one is tracking worse than the Acolyte but somehow being positioned as a success? To all who are enjoying, thats awesome. Life is too short but @MarkCassidy is citing a fluff piece which if you just do the math, its not doing well.

This is Disney's only new original show and 4 out of the 150 millions subscribers watched it? Those are abysmal numbers.

This show has been a pleasant surprise, and considering how cheap it is to make compared to other Disney Plus shows it comes off as a win.

Wait, people are watching and thoroughly enjoying a show they didn't ask for? Like 99% of the successful shows in history?

Is that good? Honest question. Compared to the best, to average, to worst is that good?

@JustAWaffle - Initial viewing figures were considered solid, as in not super high but well above average thus good for the specific genre...

...and this is an increase thus I'd say, yeh, for that specific platform for this type of show it is good.

Keep in mind Disney still has far fewer subs than Netflix and Amazon, and they keep switching on how they report for it (total minutes, total viewers or total minutes divided by episode length.

As such not always that easy to compare and contrast numbers.

I was told nobody was interested in the show and that nobody cared about Agatha.

Again may this be a reminder that the problem is not and never will be Marvel choosing to focus on lesser known characters, its the writting that matters. We were in this same situation with Guardians, people screaming nobody wants a Guardians movie and nobody will see it, but because it was good, had great writting and great characters, it worked. we should put an stop to this argument that Marvel should only focus on their more famous characters, cause that's not that will dictate if the movie is great or good, you can do a great MCU movie/show with a character that anyone barely knows about, just as you can do an horrible MCU movie/SHOW with characters that are widely popular and based on a beloved story.

A cosmic entity such as Death would not be the slightest bit interested in Agatha Harkness, let alone be desperate enough do the lez thing with her. Why they couldn't figure this while circle jerking in the writers room I don't know.... oh wait I do know, they never read the source material back in the '70s.

But some of us did, and still hold it very dear.

@Corruptor - The comics are still there. They always will be. No one can take that from you. But this is something different. This is a TV show based on those comics. And let's be honest, is that really the least believable thing in the MCU?

Its curious because less and less people are talking about this show, even the reviews are getting smaller and smaller views

I am a huge Marvel nutsack rider.. and AAA is great, but how come we see more about this show and so very little about PENGUIN?! PENGUIN is a massive success and an amazing show. Yes, there are articles here and there but it seems AAA outweighs it by 3 to 1...
