Arkham Knight For Next Gen Only

Arkham Knight For Next Gen Only

With the news of the release of Arkham Knight coming later this year the disappointment to me is that it's next-gen only.

With the news of arkham knight coming yesterday I must say my excitement levels were extremely high, that is until I saw the game is to be released for nest gen consoles only.
This to me as a loyal arkham game player is a major disappointment, with the release of arkham origins last October for current gen consoles, you would think that rocksteady would give its loyal players who have been playing the arkham series since 2009 a chance to finish the epic series on the current gen consoles but that does not seem to be the case.
All of us who still play on the current gen consoles have been hit with a blow with the news and well for me it means going out and buying a PS4. Arkham Knight is set to be released later this year.

I'll buy it when the next gen console's price are lower.

I am so glad it is next gen only. Means we wont get a crap game lacking detail just so it runs on 360/PS3. You can get it for PC if you don't have a PS4/XB1. I'm probably getting this for PC on Steam because I got the other 2 Arkham titles on PC (and I'm used to the PC gameplay, don't know if I'd enjoy it on PS4).

The details gone into the Batmobile gameplay etc alone, are said to be "large enough to fill an Xbox 360"....guess next gen was needed for a complete game!

Btw this should be in Editorials I believe, instead of News, unless you want your article to be taken down...

Th reason the game is next gen only is the same reason Evolve will be next gen only, the older consoles held the developers back. There are certain features the developers wanted to implement in the game and only the new consoles could handle. The batmobiles sequence alone were proven too much for the Xbox 360.

^ Exactly. And how do we even know this is the last game in the series again? If it wasn't this one, it would have been the next. Either open up a savings account or start blowing Santa if you really want it.

Yeah it's actually very clever.

I never thought of buying a xbox one since yesterday :)

They play the game ... :)

I'll stick to gameplay on youtube. I still can't believe GTA5 doesn't have a next-gen release.

They want me to buy a 500 dollar console, 70 dollar game, wait 3 hours for an installation that takes up 50 gigabytes.

What happened to the days you get a game and just play it. These next gen consoles are a joke.

It's already been established as being next-gen. Did this really require a brand new article, and in the NEWS, no less? This is an editorial/opinion piece, and a SHITTY ONE AT THAT. Stop bitching, quit being cheap, and bite the bullet--buy a PS4. "But I've been a loyal fan since two thousand and niiiiiine".

So what, bitch? So have I.

And Clem is right. It's quite brilliant when you think about it. I'm sure there a quitr a few of us that were holding off on upgrading, but, putting out must have titles exclusively to the latest gen consoles seals the deal for most of us. They get you hooked on a series on one console to bait you into the next. It's always been this way...

I agree with you. I was talking to Dick yesterday and he told me how he bought an Xbox One to play that Ryse Son of Rome game. It took 20 hours for it to download. He was able to hunt down Joker, and demolish Penguin's drug ring in that time span.

yea its disappointing but in the end the game will be better off for it. besides all the whiney people go save some money then build a pc closer to the end of the year that's upgradeable so u don't spend countless dollars on new consoles. steam purchase for me. all the console exclusives are cash grabs and don't have real innovation anyway.

The console is 399 which is not bad at all for a starting new console price...You're going to buy it anyway.
And the game prices are still the same, not sure why people think it's more expensive. You get way more for your money

and the batmobile design is pretty cool but could have used one or two more tweaks. more importantly were getting the sequel we want and need versus jumping into a jla game or another prequel.

Having it on non next gen would downgrade the quality of the game.

It will be better on the next gen consoles, trust me. On a side note, I hope Prometheus is the main villain for the game.

It's already been confirmed that it's too big for Xbox 360.
It sucks, but that's how it goes. I've already splurged and bought the 360 3-4 years ago, got a select dozen of games that have some good replay value, and that's it. Can't keep up with it. I'm 27 and have bills and rent to pay.

Rocksteady will loose lots of money on this one.

I doubt that. Rocksteady will, in fact, make a whole lot of money for the Xbox One and PS4.

@Tainted87...I doubt Arkham (or Titan) will convince many (this year) to spend $500 for a game console in this economy. I could be wrong, but $550 is a little steep to play the final chapter of Arkham.

Tainted87 - 3/5/2014, 9:38 PM
It definitely is for me. Too steep, I mean.
