Avengers: Doomsday's entire plot has been online for months now. Is it real? Well, we'll find out in a few short months, but there's good reason to believe the leaks are (mostly) accurate. After all, recent reshoots are bound to have changed some elements of the movie.
According to insider Daniel Richtman, three test screenings for Avengers: Doomsday have taken place so far. The reactions are described as "good," which bodes well for the upcoming blockbuster's chances of success this December.
He's also revealed that the first 10 minutes of Avengers: Doomsday "are gonna give people heart attacks." That makes sense if those rumours about an Incursion between the X-Men Universe and the home of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man are accurate.
Richtman has also confirmed that cameras will start rolling on Avengers: Secret Wars in two weeks. That gives the Russo Brothers time to shoot a little something for Doomsday's post-credits scene if they haven't already.
Talking to Marvel.com, Anthony Russo revealed that Robert Downey Jr. was always his and Joe's first choice to play the MCU's Doctor Doom.
"Audiences are coming to Avengers: Doomsday with a lot of emotional connection to prior experiences within the MCU," the filmmaker told the site. "And we have those same emotional connections. So, we want to honour that and figure out how we are using that value and that emotional investment to go somewhere new."
In related news, Vanity Fair has confirmed that Florence Pugh will reprise her role as Yelena Belova in next December's Avengers: Secret Wars. That was to be expected, of course, but it's now been made official.
The outlet also spoke to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, who "hints [that Avengers: Doomsday] will be anchored by her character."
Finally, with Avengers Endgame: Encore now playing in theaters, Thor actor Chris Hemsworth has shared several previously unseen photos from the 2019 movie. Those largely focus on the God of Thunder, Captain America (Chris Evans), and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.).
In Avengers: Doomsday, beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.
The Russo Brothers direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely, with whom they previously collaborated on the Avengers and Captain America franchises. Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness writer Michael Waldron has also been enlisted to refine the story, alongside Spider-Man: Brand New Day's Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18.
