Scott Snyder Has At Least One More Joker Story To Tell

Scott Snyder Has At Least One More Joker Story To Tell

Scott Snyder has another Joker story planned out, but it is separate from current Batman storylines. A Joker story not bound by continuity could be very interesting. Check out what he has to say after the jump

Snyder said,

"I have another Joker story, but it’s kind of an out-of-continuity one. I feel like I’ve said so much with the character at this point. And I really love that character. Like I said, I’m doing one more, but I’m looking to do it out-of-continuity. So no, he’s not coming back to fight Gordon. But you might get a glimpse of his future in a later issue somewhere."

A Joker story that takes place outside of the current coninuity could definitely be interesting and refreshing, and may even be prefered by some fans.

I want another Riddler story from him. Honestly I think he's a better writer for Riddler than Joker.

@LEVITIKUZ

I'd be down with another Riddler story, but I like the idea of another Joker story too

Btw, I don't know if you've ever watched the BBC "Sherlock" series but Andrew Scott would make a PERFECT Riddler, I've been sold on the idea ever since it was mentioned on here

Andrew Scott channels alot of Joker in his Moriarty portrayal....unfortunately in my opinion. I think he mimics a lot of Ledger's performance. Scott is a good actor but I wish he'd make Moriarty his own

MY RIDDLER

Really? I don't see that at all, imo. I see more of a mystery aspect to his portrayal of Moriarty than a sociopath or psychopath like the Joker. I feel like Scott's portrayal of Moriarty needs to prove that he can outsmart Sherlock, that he's smarter than him, something that lines up with The Riddler way more than The Joker. He also make Sherlock straight up solve riddle after riddle on the show, haha, I think he would be perfect for Riddler

Loved Death of the family and Endgame arcs. I think Geoff Johns is genius but I would've preferred Snyder for co-writing Bat solo.

I'm getting tired of Snyder. Every issue and every character in every issue talks the same damn way.

Paragraph of paragraph of paragraph to explain the simplest thing before getting to the damn point.

Scott Snyder is my favorite Batman writer, even over Frank Miller. He has yet to make a bad Batman story.

This guy has got to be my favorite writer right now...

Scott Snyder is a genius, hope he stays on DC indefinitely.

Retribution13@ And that point is usually the same damn point, too. Somehing about how the city is a person and that person is Hell and it brings out the evil in people and the truth is that the people like being evil. Something like that.
Having said that, I do think that Snyder and Capullo's run on Batman is not just one of the stand-out runs on that comic or the character, but one of the stand out runs in the history of comics.
Is it a little overrated? Sure, but isn't every other highly rated run? These things are always overrated. Doesn't make them bad. It's not the opposite of a classic writer/artist superhero comic-book run. It is a classic writer/artist superhero comic-book run.
I love it. They're doing what needs to be done with the character. It's perfect.

Haven't read Endgame yet, though. Waiting for the trade. But I flicked through the books as they were coming out. From Batman1989 to Dark Knight Returns, with a little A Death in the Family and The Killing Joke thrown in there, from somebody who gets the Joker's voice pitch-perfect and somebody who draws him better than any artist in recent years? I can hardly wait any longer.
As soon as Endgame comes out in TPB, I'm getting some back issues and jumping onto the monthly. I won't wait anymore for this team.

And have you seen the covers Capullo has been putting out, recently?
Fvck me, they belong in a museum. I want to frame them and put them on my walls.

True, I hear you, depending on which Joker interpretation, I can see that

So do Snyder and Capullo have carte blanche when it comes to making Batman stories? Or is DC Editorial guiding them in any way?

But I thought they weren't all that focused on continuity in general right now? Okay, I guess I'd have to actually read the comics to know what's going on, but based on the previews I saw here Bruce Wayne/Batman seems to be 1) dead 2) a god and 3) a bearded employee at a mall.

I was hyped the moment I read "Scott Snyder" and "Joker" in the same sentence. It will be interesting to see what Snyder can do without conforming to continuity.
