How Catwoman COULD Work in Batman 3

How Catwoman COULD Work in Batman 3

I know, it’s highly unlikely that she will be in the movie, but if she is, she wouldn’t be the main villain…but she would be important.

Okay, before you go and prepare yourselves to call me a noob, just listen. First of all, my choice for Catwoman would be Marion Cotillard. She’s outstanding at what she does, incredibly sexy and she was in Nolan’s ‘Inception’. And we all know that Christopher Nolan likes to work with familiar actors and actresses.

So that’s the first part: casting. Next, let’s examine how critical of a role Catwoman would have in the final installment of the ‘Batman Begins’ trilogy.

I don’t know who the main villain will be. None of us do. But IF Catwoman is in the new movie (and that’s a big ‘if’), she would at most be a henchman or right hand (wo)man. Much like Mila Jovovich in Ben Stiller’s ‘Zoolander’, ‘Cat’ would be the inside (wo)man in Bruce Wayne’s life. The villain, whoever it may be, would enlist her to infiltrate Bruce’s life and gain his trust. Perhaps he even falls in love. Perhaps she falls in love as well. But of course her duty stands in the way and when it comes down to the first fight scene, she’s on his ass like white on rice.

Now, the only way this could work is if we assume that the villain is The Riddler. Why? Because he’s not much of a fighter, is he? And no one wants to see the same situation as Joker/Batman, so Nolan would want to change things up and pit Batman against someone unlike anyone he’s ever fought before: a woman; which catches him off guard and he looses the fight. So he gets really down in the dumps and can only confide in the one woman left in his life. A woman who he doesn’t know just kicked his ass. Tragic, right? And I realize that I’m not going into too much detail as to why she’s working for her boss. But does it really matter? Do you care?

In the end, Catwoman would choose love over duty and sacrifice herself to save Batman who is in some pretty deep trouble at the hands of The Riddler. So she ‘dies’ and Batman saves the day. So for Nolan to stay true to the character, Catwoman would ‘die’ but when Bruce comes home one day after a long day of being Batman weeks after the final conflict of the movie, he finds a clue or something left by her at his place. Maybe a love note or even her pet cat. Something that explains that she too must do what is right and protect the lives of the innocent. She also can’t see him again because it would hurt too much if she lost him, like, in battle or something. This doesn’t really leave the movie on a cliff hanger, because Bruce would explain to Alfred at the end of the movie,

‘I tried to give it up, Alfred. I tried to move on. But somebody once told me that I was destined to do this forever. There will always be those who threaten the lives of the people of Gotham. And so there must always be someone to protect them. I am and always will be…The Batman.’

BOOM. Credits.

I like your ideas, but this sounds a lot like what happened in Batman Returns, only now Riddle is calling the shots instead of Cobblepot. Good job otherwise.

@Chris McLellan..I agree with AxlKomix that it's very similar to what happens in Batman Returns but there are some similarites with the Burton and Nolan Batman movies..I think Bruce will still be in mourning over (spoiler alert to the one person who hasn't seen TDK)Rachael Dawes therefore he will focus on crimefighting more than a new love interest..

Good article though, I liked how thought out it was!

Marion Cotillard = Nolanverse Catwoman! :)
Emily Blunt is Nolan's Lois Lane ;)

she could just be a normal thief then adopts the "cat" type mask after people start calling her catwoman
and Bruce is quite vulnerable after rachel died and this could make a good sub plot
add Riddler to the story and this would be perfect!
maybe throw in her getting prego at the end well not throw it in but hint it
as she leaves Batman or he leaves her
she grabs her stomach or something which leaves a possible cliffhanger (remember him and her have the huntress as their daughter in one incarnation)

and c'mon this pic looks awesome!
