Bad quality video mixed in makes a bad video worst.

It is not bad quality. It takes a lot of work to make these things.

@gtman obviously you don't understand the time and creativity that goes into something like this. As an editor and learning about all this stuff in school, for a person to go through other works and recycle them to create a whole new story is very astounding, especially one as seamless as this. Yes of course you'll recognize the movies and everything but this person's ability to do this is fantastic. And yes a mentally leap can be established with this so don't bash it. Just because you can't do something like this doesn't mean you should hate on it

iongl@ i think he was more referring 2 what was the point of making it?...its a bunch of clips of movies rolled in2 one...but what was the story???...its great that these guys know how 2 do editing....but what exactly was the point of this?..i hav 2 say im wit @grtman on this one :)...they all join forces 2 stop astroids from hitting the earth?...something anyting of thes guys/teams could do by themselves???...and then the astroids hit anyways???...kinda dumb lol

Destroyer14 - 6/19/2010, 8:01 AM
XmutantX Kinda dumb? Making this takes hours of hard work. Putting heroes from two different worlds and making it seem realistic is not kinda dumb.

Sorry IonGL2814. I share the same sentiments as gtrman. Its utter crap. So what if it was cut and editted well (though it wasn't)? It sucked essential lifesforce from my overall lifespan, and now I can't get it back. At least with a pack of smokes, there may have been a modecum of pleasure out of it. But here? There was no reason for my shorter life as a result of this trailer.

It wasn't the best thing I've seen but better than that Superman "tribute" posted yesterday (Not to be taken as a dig at you Ed). As much as we can all appreciate the amount of work and time that goes into doing these sort of things (I know first hand) I think we can be thick skinned enough to take a few hits when it misses. It comes with the territory of displaying it to the public and given them an option to say something about it. I agree with gtrman, I too am not sure what exactly the focus is in this trailer. It has an ADD feel to the whole thing. Very "Bayish" in it's execution.

Criticisms, of course, are always welcome, but what I try to do is post the efforts of aspiring editors/filmmakers. Most of them are teens who are learning the craft, and if a bit of a spotlight can be focused on their efforts -- even if they result in some negative comments -- I think it's worth it.

Truthfully speaking, when I was growing up there was no outlet for my creative efforts except for self-published fanzines that I could show to friends and family. Now, with all of the tools that are available, there really is an opportunity for talent to be nurtured, developed and, hopefully, evolved.

It was a nice effort but it was only an effort. Why Smallville and not Routh as the man of steel? Major fault!

Beware my power!

Wow...I have to agree with gtrman and the others. What a mess. The blank black screens were not needed and didn't fill the purpose of what I think they were trying to attempt to do. It seemed like a mish-mosh of scenes that didn't even fit together. For example, it made it look like Lex created the Hulk the way those clips were put together. A quick Spidey clip is interjected in the Banner portion as well that doesn't fit in. It makes it look like Clark is an experiment and they are going to make him into a mutant killer? Huh? . Spidey going "huh" in a nonchalant way at the beginning after part of a city gets wiped out is just ridiculous. Nothing flowed. Is this a disaster movie or a mutant war story? Both?

I am not much of a fan of the fan films that are clips put together. I know it is for the up and coming film students and wannabes to practice their craft, but certain things really aren't worth sharing with the general public unless you are ready for the criticism that goes along with it. This one doesn't cut it for me.

I beleive what gtrman said was an opinion and I thought it was okay to share one. I happen to agree.

And don't tell me about how much time it took. I'm sure the movie Bio Dome took more than twice the time of this and that was crap too. If it took someone 5 years to make this it would still be crap and I'd greatly pitty the person that did it.

There are exceptions of course such as the green. lantern one and the thundercats one but this isn't nearly on the same creative field.

Jesus, I worked on this trailer for a week, and all I get is negativity? I like to see some of the people make one better.

well Ranger put it more logically than me. I'm not just hating and I wouldn't even have chimed in if dude hadn't tried to censor dissenting opinion. people shouldn't get their feelings hurt.

If Superman would just figure out how to fly, there wouldn't need to be a movie. He'd just be able to fly on up there and stop it.

umm yeah that wasnt very cool. i was expecting something else. to me when all you do is put a bunch of clips from movies and make a trailer out of it, thats not a fan made film. a fan made film would be something like that street fighter legacy.

Just because we "can't" do something doesn't mean we can't give it a thumbs down. Most of us can't make movies, period, but we critique them all the time (sometimes vehemently). This was pretty bad.

I appreciate the hard work these guys put into making this but it doesnt do it for me. I'm just not a big fan of this sort of thing to be honest! :P
