As we first reported on SFFGazette.comHarry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets has cast three more key characters, with Rafe Spall as Arthur Weasley, Molly Hewitt-Richards as Moaning Myrtle, and Jasper Ambrose as Colin Creevey.

They join other recent Harry Potter Season 2 additions: Kit Harington as Gilderoy Lockhart, Bonnie Hill as Ginny Weasley, Lenny Rush as Dobby, and Billy Barratt as Tom Riddle.

Arthur Weasley is a kind-hearted Ministry of Magic employee fascinated by Muggles. The father of seven children, including Ron, he becomes a father figure to Harry and, much later, a member of the Order of the Phoenix. Spall takes over the role from Mark Williams, and counts The Ritual and Black Mirror among his credits. His father, Timothy Spall, played Peter Pettigrew in the Harry Potter movies.

Moaning Myrtle is the ghost of a Hogwarts student who haunts the girls' bathroom on the second floor. Hewitt-Richards, who has appeared in Casualty and Code of Silence, inherits the role from Shirley Henderson.

As for Colin Creevey, he's a Gryffindor student and enthusiastic amateur photographer who idolises the Boy Wizard. Ambrose recently starred in The Sheep Detectives and was first said to be in the running for this role several months ago.

With that, Harry Potter Season 2's primary cast appears complete. All the major characters from J.K. Rowling's second novel have been found, and the next big Wizarding World casting news will be Sirius Black in Season 3/The Prisoner of Azkaban. There's still no word on who has been cast as Lord Voldemort, but we expect the actor to at least voice the villain when he appears in The Philosopher's Stone.

In The Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter's summer has included the worst birthday ever, doomy warnings from a house-elf called Dobby, and a rescue from the Dursleys by his friend Ron Weasley in a magical flying car.

Back at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for his second year, Harry hears strange whispers echo through empty corridors—and then the attacks start. Students are found as though turned to stone... Dobby's sinister predictions seem to be coming true.

The main cast of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone includes Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, and Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone premieres on HBO Max this Christmas.

I’m not familiar with the actors playing Colin and Myrtle but Rafe Spall as Arthur Weasley is actually not bad imo in that I wouldn’t have thought of him for the role but can actually see him being able to pull off the character tbh.

Also both father & son are now in Harry Potter since Timothy Spall played Peter Pettigrew in the films!!.

@Repian - nah , I don’t see and plus they are casting more book appropriate which is younger.
