After the miserable excuse of a movie that was The Final Frontier, movie goers were willing to take anything to wash the dirt off from William Shatner's dumpster fire. So the studio (wisely) grabbed Nicholas Meyer, the director of Wrath of Khan to save the day. The Undiscovered Country is by no means a perfect film, but its a perfect way to end a story for the original Star Trek crew. This was also a break in tone for the franchise, since it's by far the most political. The previous installments were a mix of Science, Adventure and religion, but this was the first film that had some strong political themes.  Full review below:

So what did you think of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country?
Was it a disappointing way to end the series?
Or a great send off?

I'm not a huge Comic Book Geek, but the super hero movie genre has always excited me, and always will. I do not enjoy when people argue over CBMs like they're a religion, but i guess thats how most movie geeks are.

oh and if i had to really pic a side,
i mean really really really had to, then
DC, baby :)

but i really don't care about which is best. they both make me happy
